Sarah, despite feeling so hurt by her sister's accusing words to her, refused to let go of the hope that somehow, they could find a way to heal the wounds that had been inflicted on their once unbreakable sisterly bond. Sarah's heart ached for the closeness they had once shared. She remembered the countless nights they had spent talking, laughing, and confiding in each other, and she couldn't bear the thought of losing it. "Sasha," Sarah pleaded, her voice softening as she reached out to touch her sister's shoulder, "I understand why you're upset. I never wished for this to create a division between us. You mean everything to me, and I would never do anything to hurt you intentionally." Sasha finally looked up, her eyes filled with a mix of anger and hurt. "She demanded, her voice quivering. "Why did the moon select you over me? What mistake did I make? Have I not always been the one who stood out, the one who deserved to be Alpha's mate?" Tears welled up in Sarah's eyes as she listened to her sister's words. She could feel the pain and jealousy that Sasha was experiencing, and it tore at her heart. She wished she could change what had happened, but the moon's choice was beyond anyone's control. "I wish I had the answers, Sasha," Sarah whispered, her voice choked with emotion. "I don't know why the moon chose me. But we can't change what's done. All we can do is find a way to move forward together." Sasha's anger began to wane, replaced by a deep sadness. She had always been the more assertive and ambitious of the twins, and this unexpected turn of events had left her feeling lost and powerless. Sarah continued to speak from her heart, hoping to reach the core of Sasha's pain. "Sasha, you know we are sisters, twins for that matter and there is nothing that can change that. We've faced challenges before, and we've always come through them together. Please let this not tear us apart. I wouldn't like that. I need you by my side, just as much as you need me." A bitter laugh escaped Sasha's lips, her eyes glistening with malice. "You are weak and pathetic Sarah. You think you deserve him?" She spat while shaking her head in disbelief. "Gabriel deserves a resilient mate, someone who can stand beside him and lead the pack, not a trembling fool like you," she continued. Sarah flinched at the venom in Sasha's voice, her hands instinctively curling into fists. She tried to steady her breathing, reminding herself that anger would only fuel the fire. "Enough!" The command, deep and authoritative, echoed through the room as Gabriel strode in, his eyes blazing. Both sisters stiffened, turning their attention to the Alpha. He stood tall between them, an immovable force that demanded respect. "Both of you," he said, his gaze shifting between Sarah and Sasha, "are important members of this pack. You need to find a way to work together, for the sake of everyone." As he spoke, Sarah couldn't help but feel her heart swell with gratitude for his support. But she knew it wasn't enough; she needed to prove herself, not only to Sasha but to the entire pack. "I'm willing to try," Sarah said softly, meeting Sasha's icy stare with determination. "I know I have much to learn, but I want to be a part of this pack, to contribute and grow alongside all of you." Sasha snorted derisively, crossing her arms over her chest. "Let's see if your actions match your words," she challenged, her tone dripping with condescension. Gabriel nodded solemnly, acknowledging the tension that still hung heavy in the air. "It will be challenging," he cautioned, "but our pack is more robust when we remain united." He paused, taking a deep breath before addressing both sisters once more. "Find a way to make peace, or we will all suffer the consequences." At that moment, Sarah knew she had no choice but to face her fears and fight for the acceptance of both her sister and her pack. She couldn't let them down. The dim light from the bedside lamp cast a warm glow on Sarah's delicate features, the shadows highlighting her vulnerability. She looked up at Gabriel, her green eyes glistening with unshed tears. "Gabriel," she whispered, her plea laden with emotion. "All I want is for things to go back to how they were before... before all this tension between Sasha and me." Sarah's hair trembled as she shook her head, her voice barely audible. "I just want peace within the pack and for us to live together without conflict." "Harmony?" Sasha spat out the word, her face twisted by jealousy. She stalked closer to the alpha, her piercing eyes accusing him. "Your infatuation with her has clouded your judgment, my dear. Don't you realize how she's manipulating you? Playing the innocent victim while she basks in your attention?" Her hands clenched into fists at her sides, and Sasha's anger is evident in every tense line of her body. "What about the connection between us, Gabriel? Have you overlooked it? "Enough, Sasha!" Gabriel growled, his eyes narrowing as he stepped forward, placing himself between the two sisters. His jaw clenched, and he addressed Sasha directly. "How can I forget our bond? I still remember it. However my role as Alpha requires me to put the well-being of the pack before personal relationships. You know this." He glanced over his shoulder at Sarah, concern etched on his face. "I understand your pain, Sasha. But we must find a way to move past it, for the good of everyone." Sarah bit her lip, her heart aching for the sister she had once shared an unbreakable connection with. Her thoughts raced, searching for a solution, a way to mend the rift that had formed between them. Silence hung heavy in the room, broken only by Sarah's quiet sobs. She waited, her heart lodged in her throat, for Sasha to respond – to offer some glimmer of hope that they might yet find a way to mend their fractured relationship. In that moment, Sarah felt more than ever the depth of her love for her twin sister and the pain of the invisible wall that had risen between them. If only she could bridge the divide, she thought, they could heal together and move forward as a united family. The door slammed shut with a resounding c***k, echoing through the stark bedroom and rattling the delicate trinkets on the dresser. Sarah flinched at the sound, her heart pounding in her chest as she stared at the space where Sasha had stood just moments before. The air was thick with tension, charged with the remnants of their bitter argument. "Sarah," Gabriel whispered, his voice breaking through the oppressive silence that enveloped the room. His eyes were filled with concern, a deep furrow creasing his brow as he gazed down at her tear-streaked face. "I didn't want this" she choked out, her voice trembling. "I never wanted to come between you two." He stepped closer, wrapping his strong arms around her, encasing her in a comforting embrace. The scent of his skin – a blend of earth and cedar – filled her senses, offering her a small measure of solace amidst the chaos that threatened to consume her. "Shh," he murmured into her hair, his breath warm against her ear. "I know, Sarah. I believe you. And I'll do everything I can to help mend things between you and Sasha." She leaned into him, allowing herself to be held, to be comforted by the weight of his presence. She could feel the steady rhythm of his heartbeat beneath her fingertips, a grounding reminder of the connection they shared. "Thank you," she whispered, closing her eyes and focusing on the feeling of being enveloped by 's warmth, his strength. And yet, even as she clung to him, the shadow of her sister's anger loomed large in her thoughts. Sasha's accusations, cruel and sharp as ice, cut deep into her already fragile heart. She couldn't help but wonder if there would ever be a way to truly heal the rift that had formed between them. "Is it even possible?" she asked, her voice wavering. "Do you believe it's possible to mend the rift between Sasha and me?" Gabriel hesitated, his jaw tightening as he contemplated her question. Finally, he spoke, his voice soft but resolute: "I don't know, Sarah. But we have to try. For the sake of our pack – and the bond you two once shared. We'll find a way. Together." As her tears continued to fall, staining Gabriel's shirt, Sarah clung to his promise, seeking solace in his unwavering determination. She knew that the road ahead would be fraught with challenges, but with Alpa Gabriel by her side, she dared to believe that they might just find a way to forge a new path – one where the love between sisters could conquer even the most insurmountable obstacles.
