“He is not dying.”
Harmon said it before either of them asked the question. He was already at his desk when they arrived, his jacket off and three documents open on his screen, the posture of a man who had received news and converted it immediately into a problem with actionable components.
“The attending physician’s report was filed with the court forty minutes after the episode,” Harmon continued, turning his screen so they could read it. “Atrial fibrillation. Serious but manageable. He is stable. His cardiologist has been on record treating him for this condition for three years.” He paused. “Three years. Which means his legal team knew about this condition before today and chose not to disclose it in any of the pre-trial filings.”
