CHAPTER 10 BEGGING YOU JUDE'S POV ……. Looking at her horrific face, my hand hung in the air. Should I hold her like this? Will she feel safe with me? I didn't know. She wouldn't. She stayed still. As if waiting for me to chain her. I released her. Her eyes scanned mine for a sec. Before she moved away from me. “Let me go,” she said, her voice shaking. I covered the gaps between us. “Don't chase answers you won't find” I said leaning close. “Why?” She asked, her eyes filled with curiosity and doubt. “Knowing too much means quick death” I said, yanking her chin up. She didn't fight this time. She just stared into my eyes. “You look scared,” she said, her voice calm yet certain. I retract. “Scared? Of what?” I was amazed. She smiled, “You are scared something would happen to me” She said moving close to me. She was stupidly brave, by saying such things. “I am here to drag you to hell” She didn't flinch nor say anything. “Really?” She asked bewildered. What was she playing at? She took out a note from jacket. “Then what is this?” She asked. Staring me deep into the eyes. She shouldn't know anything, not now. I wish she could remain innocent forever. It was a pity she wasn't made for peace. It was a file containing names of new recruits. “What's this list?” She asked. “Is this the hell you mean? You know me as A00, isn't it” She chuckled softly. I snatched the list from her hand. “You are nothing but the pretty face I crave,” I said, tracing her face. “What?” She asked surprised. Gently I pulled her close. “Yes…you are my fiancee” I said grinning. She looked like she had seen a ghost. Her face turned pale. “God forbid” she said, walking away from me. “Those men are after me. I need you as a shield” I said. Moving closer Wait, she said. Trying to register what I just said. “I would never be your fiancee,” she yelled. “What the f**k?” She muttered. I wanted to laugh but I had to put on my cold nature. “Why not?” I asked with a soft chuck. “Heaven would never let it happen” she said with a narrow brow. “So you don't even know me?” she asked. I smiled. Yes, let it rather be romantic entanglement than a prey predator relationship. “I have known you since birth,” I said. She frowned, then her lip parted in a gasp. “Smile more often,” she said, climbing onto the bed. I stared down at the chain on my hand. “Then don't blame me for what comes next?” I said to spray the chain. Her face froze. My face darkened. “You leave me no choice” I said moving closer to her. “Wait?” She yelled. Her hands trembled. “Do you really wanna chain me?” I smirked, “Yes, if that would make you stay still” “Didn't you say I am your fiance?” She asked, her jaw clenching. My voice dropped dead, “Only if you want me to stay. Let's cohabitate” I said, scanning her reaction. “No!,” She yelled “You are too dangerous” she said, but covered her mouth immediately those words left her mouth. I took a deep breath. She bought it. She won't chase answers anymore. She has the best answer she needs now. Being my fiancee was already an honor. “Then you have to make sure I will always be safe,” she said, biting her lips. I could see her eyelashes trembling. She was scared of what I would do. “Good Girl,” I said, petting her head. She stayed frozen. No words said. “Be the Proper Good Girl you are” I said closing the door. For now, her mind was put at it. Though it was temporary, everything would fall into place sooner. It was time to eliminate someone, Gracias was not to be in any slightest danger. I will be the only danger around her. I picked my phone. “Send me his location” it was best to handle him myself. He had appeared more than he should have. From the corner of my eyes, I saw her. She was staying by the door. She covered her mouth. I turned to meet her frozen face. She shouldn't have heard it. Instinctively she ran back. Was she capable of escaping? This game of truth of lies?
