Sera's Pov I stayed at the panel for a long time after his footsteps faded down the hallway. Not because I was falling apart. I was past that. I stayed because walking away felt like it meant something, and I needed a moment to decide what. Caden had just apologized to a wall. Three years, and the most honest thing he had ever said to me was aimed at glass he could not see through. I did not know whether to be angry about that or something softer, so I stood there and let both feelings sit next to each other without making them compete. Eventually I stepped back.
