"Wills wants to see you"
Ryan stood at the cabin window. It had rained a while ago. The smell of trees filled his nostrils. Rye craved to be out probably hunting or watching the young wolves master their fighting craft and not going in front of the father at such early hours.. Ryan glanced at the gold wrist watch he had on, a billion dollar one. It wasn't just to know the seconds that ticked, with his alpha sense of smell, he could run back the hands of time to track an enemy, their movements and what they could probably do with just a glance at it. Ryan whirled, he had sensed Jace coming from afar. He heard the message even before it came. He knew his dad had something to say. Things felt odd. Even as he ran his hand through the huge mohagany made piano that sat at the corner side, the smooth edges said it all.
"Tell him I will be with him shortly"
Jace bowed.
Maybe, on a different occasion, he would have tried a conversation, ask why everyone was suddenly on edge. Jace was the Beta and more so to that was Ryan's closest friend. Ryan didn't have so many friends but he sure considered himself as one. The wind was out calling, it felt like things were about to change and so soon.
Alpha's Wills office wasn't the typical office you could imagine for an alpha. The pink, violent interior colours he had everywhere might just be too false to describe who he really is. Alpha Wills was a terror to many, not like his son was any much better. Maybe the colours was the only light in his soul ever since the death of his wife...his mate.
Seated around the Alpha's throne were the pack members, the younger ones stood. Everyone watched him. Ryan knew this had to do with him but he had no idea what.
"You sent for me Alpha Wills"
Just like every other person, Ryan addressed his father by his name. Not like they were ever in good terms with each other. The death of the luna, Will's wife and Ryan's mother, the only soul he was so close to had created a gap between the father and son, not like any of them cared to care either.
Suddenly, there was howl, a loud one. It was desperate. The cold wind breaking into the alpha's cabin, it was a cry, like a wounded rogue out there to die alone. But no one had taken a misstep, no one was shaken. It had indeed taken the pack members unawares but not a word was heard.
The corners of Ryan's ear twitched, it happened whenever he was getting angry and desperate for answers. Maybe it was simply the alpha traits in him or his wolf personality. Yes, Ryan did come from a human, not like it made him less of an alpha because, he indeed was one of the strongest the supernatural world has heard of. They rarely heard him talk, he was strangely everywhere, and when he spoke, it wasn't much less of terror either.
The silent cabin went as cold as ice once again. Alpha Wills was watching, his eyes, a burning fire staring back at Ryan whose coal eyes was slowly going hazel with a range of fire burning in them. It was as if a message was being passed across from father to the son. From a destined alpha to the one who the throne was meant for once more.
and suddenly, Ryan was howling as well, it was heard across the mountains to the borders of other packs, the pack alphas could hear it, the shivers it came with. It was the howl of an alpha ready to pounce and devour whatever came his way.
Slowly, it became distant grunts and silence followed afterwards.
"The pack is in trouble. We need a lycan as soon as possible and according to the moon goddess, this pack's savior will be your mate. I'm hoping Ryan that you find your mate as soon as possible before the next full moon" Dan, his father's beta said.
A scoff was heard right after, Ace, the black sheep of the pack. He was there when Wills had taken over, he is the dethroned omega who committed the treason of trying to kill the alpha. But the alphas can't be dethroned easily, can they?
Eyes turned to Ace who had his fixed on Ryan who in turn glared.
"Today makes it just 63 years the luna died, preferably, the human luna. We all know why she died. It wasn't just the fact that she was a human, you Alpha Wills" A finger was stern pointing at Wills, "had tried turning her into a wolf and we all know she had died in the process. I will keep saying this over and over again, in every generation the goddess allows me see, the Blood Sea Pack isn't safe in your hands and I doubt it will be during your son's." There was a pause as Ace eyes went around everyone who stared back, not a word from no one. He turned back to Ryan
"What makes you think history won't repeat itself once again?"
There was a loud scoff from Ryan right after and in a second, Ace was backed up at the wall, his hands round his neck, he was struggling—to breathe, Ryan had him pinned and as Ryan's neck twitched and turned, his breaths became nothing other than distant, breathless pants. As the silence grew louder, quiet gasps followed, death wasn't so far away. It was sensed so close.
"That's enough Ryan"
Ryan wasn't a frequent word Wills said but when he did say it, it meant a lot. Reluctantly, Ryan had let go. Ace coughed out loudly, rubbing his hurt neck. Ryan stared at him, the corners of his lips tugging into a cocky smile. It had sent a message just like intended.
"I believe that should be all alpha Wills"
not needing to hear the affirmation, Ryan was out with Jace lurking behind.

The shareholders sat around the panel table, their eyes fixed on Ryan who had the microphone set in front of him. He watched the sales manager present the sales stats to him on paper and taking it no more, a loud thud followed, The vein lines showing itself from the masculinity the supernatural world created. His anger had surfaced and in a split second, the sales file was torn into two. Everyone shrieked, she was terrorised. Things like this made Ryan crave for their lives, the taste for their blood surpassing every other thing, Jace could sense it coming and tried to calm him down through the mind link but as always, he had shut every one off. He made quick strides to him
"You wouldn't want to have so much explanation to give to alpha Wills now, will you?, gather yourself together Ryan"
slowly but certainly, Ryan had his eyes closed and came back. Mr. John. a catholic Christian who probably had himself under the panel table had made a sign of the cross. They were totally grateful for Jace who was always there to save them.
"Bunch of humans!"
Ryan said, spite filling in much of the words. A last look of rage at them, he walked out.
Heaving loudly, Jace stared at the sales file that was nothing more than a crumpled shreds of paper.
"A new time for the meeting will be set and until then, get ideas on how you" he said pointing at each of them "would make the hotel sales stats come up. We are one of the leading hotels in the country and if care is not taken, these sales stats won't help. Come up with good ads and ideas on how to move the company further. Ryan would very much appreciate that"
"We should probably kill ourselves then" Mark, the Irish brought up shareholder with no hair said, Jace set his eyes on him. Not like, he tolerated these beings but there wasn't much he could do either.
"I would say Mark, be careful with your words, you might end up really killing yourself"
Jace dropped the crumpled now straightened paper back on the table and walked out. His lips pursed and m ready to share his mind with his alpha.
*****
As always, he sensed him coming to his office. The transparent doors didn't make it any much special for the human eyes. He looked away with a sigh. He hated it when Jace came tormenting him with his lectures, he came with truth he really didn't wish to hear. The clacking sound of the glass doors, announced his entrance.
Ryan cursed under his breath.
"So dramatic" he said
"You really do need some spanking of some sort or maybe a little bit of silver to your back to have some reasoning. It's a total new world here Ryan. You f*****g have to be careful"
Ryan looked away again, his eyes travelling with the ray of light that found its way into his office. It reminded him so much of his mom, how much she craved sitting at the mountain top at sunset. He loved doing that with her but not anymore, mother was no more, there was no reason to.
Jace escaped a breath.
"You really is a lot to deal with" He said, he threw himself on the leather seat, raising a booted feet on the desk and yes, Jace never dressed in suit, only on rare occasions. Occasions when he was forced though. "Anyway, we have to meet the Big Jerry at Las Vegas today. Remember?" Jace raised an eyebrow at him for a reaction of some sort but that was only greeted with a glare.
Jace nodded in defeat.
"I'm sure you remember. Just be prepared Ryan"
"I'm always prepared" he mumbled, hardly a whisper.
Jace chuckled, his pride wasn't a joke though.

It was the third time that morning, Andy was pulling up at her drive way, to carry the garbage away. They had weeded the yard the day before and had no strength to tidy up.
Mia sat at the porch step, taking off the dirt that stuck on her legs. She made a face.
"I'm so tired already Andy. Where do you get the damn energy from?"
"I'm done Mia. Go take a shower. You stink just by looking at you from here"
Andy said, sounding more octave than usual, the kids at the neighbourhood wasn't helping matters either.
Mia scrunched up her nose in disgust
"You really got some bad comebacks there. don't you Andy Miles?"
Andy chuckled at the sarcasm that laced in her voice. If there was another name for sarcasms, it certainly would be Mia Adams.
"I will be back shortly" Andy said. She hopped into the old wagon truck she had managed to get from her dad before he passed away and drove out.
Later that day, when all was said and done. The two sat at the mini room that was cut out as the sitting room, it was a small apartment they could barely pay for in Vegas.
Mia tilted her head in a musing gesture, dropping the Cosmo magazine on her thighs
"Andy?"
Mia called. Andy raised the face mask she had on. She was obviously trying to catch on some sleep in the mid afternoon.
"Yeah"
"What do you think about catching on some drinks and you know, laying off some months of stress?. It's been long we had such a good time"
Andy had her eyes rolling even before Mia could finish up.
"We are barely surviving Mia. We can't afford to pay for drinks and moreover, I'm way too busy for that"
Mia had her eyes, anti clock wise, if that was possible.
