Maya’s POV My client was waiting. Those four words echoed relentlessly inside my head as the guard pushed the door open. For a brief moment, I couldn’t move. “Go in,” he said quietly. I drew a shaky breath and forced myself to step inside. The room was surprisingly peaceful. Soft jazz floated through hidden speakers, and warm lighting cast a golden glow over the elegant furniture.
