“It’s a suicide run,” the boy with the visor muttered. “Those tunnels are packed with the things that crawled out of the void. They’re hunting you, Titan.”
Carter just shrugged. “Let them.” He drew the Data-Siphon’s hilt and turned it over in his hand. Cold metal, but power buzzed under his skin, Level 21 just itching to break loose. “Up in the Spire, I played their game. Down in Sector 10’s tunnels? That’s my home field. I know every inch of those walls.”
He glanced at Lena, then Jax. “Give me twenty minutes. I need to breathe. Then we go. We grab the fragment, smash the pillars, take back our city.”
