She didn't notice Calla. Not at first. By the time she did, it was too late. Calla pushed off from the wall, anticipating the other girl's reaction. Astrid froze. Her smile disappeared. Calla watched a dozen emotions flicker and gutter in her eyes—fear, surprise, anger, suspicion—before Astrid managed to plaster an unconvincing smile on her face. "Calla?" she asked.
