Jennifer was so embarrassed she wished she could disappear. Her attire already clashed with the elegant atmosphere of the banquet, and her sneaky behavior made her look suspicious.
She had thought she'd been careful enough to avoid everyone's notice, but unexpectedly ran right into Eleanor. Clenching her fists in frustration, Jennifer decided to stop hiding and strode directly up to Eleanor, meeting her scrutinizing gaze.
Before Jennifer could say anything, Eleanor spoke in a lightly mocking tone, "What a surprise to see you here. Truly an unexpected delight."
Jennifer retorted indignantly, "If you can come here, why can't I? This isn't your event."
Eleanor shrugged nonchalantly, then asked with a sly smile, "So why are you here, then? Spying on Corey?"
