After pushing Nathaniel out of the door, Eleanor collapsed onto the bed as if all her strength had been drained. She stared blankly at the ceiling, her eyes shimmering with unshed tears. The room was eerily silent, and it felt like hours before she finally drifted into a deep sleep. Morning came, and sunlight streamed through the window. Eleanor stirred as the bed shifted beneath her. She rubbed her aching temples and sat up groggily but made no move to get up right away.
