On the way home from work, Eleanor called Olivia.
As Eleanor rubbed her temples, Ryan's earlier mention of that rumor came to mind. Curiously, she asked Olivia, "Do you know Corey?"
"Yes, I know him," Olivia replied, sounding intrigued. Then she teased, "Why? Have you taken a liking to him?"
"Of course not!" Eleanor quickly denied it and told Olivia about the rumor she had heard.
There was a brief pause before laughter erupted on the other end of the line. Olivia's unstoppable laughter left Eleanor feeling puzzled, as if she'd said something utterly ridiculous.
When Olivia finally finished laughing, Eleanor heard her defend Corey.
"Corey's actually quite nice to women. I've met him a few times, and he didn't seem to dislike me at all. Who started this nonsense about him hating women?
