Chapter 2: Dormitory

Chapter 2

We are now in front of the very huge dormitory. It looked like a castle, I use my x-ray vision and saw the whole building. I can only say one word. HUGE. I was about to step my foot at the gate when I saw one of the students being electrify.

“You can’t enter this building just like that.” A guy suddenly showed up in front of us wearing a gray coat with a hood which has a word written on it. M.A.K.E DORMITORY is what’s written on it.

“I’m Peter the Guardian of this Dormitory. I know every inch and function of this place that is why before you enter, I want you to draw lots. You will only draw one color and you must find your partner. One room can occupy 3 person and those who has the same color will be your group partner in every activity inside the campus.” He said and showed us his face. We just stood there and look at him. A box appeared in front of us at the middle of the gate.

“Before you draw your lots. I want to tell you 3 important rules not only here at the dormitory but also at the academy.” He pauses and sat at the pillar of the gate like a monkey.

“First, no unknown battle or unannounced fight inside the academy. If you want to fight, then you must pass a letter of challenge with a witness and the fight must be held at the arena. Second, no usage of powers inside, if the Professor didn’t tell you to use. Third, and the most important one, no one must get rid of their wrist band. It’s an important device if you get rid of it, we will know and the punishment for it is DEATH. You will know what the function of those wristband later. Now draw your lots and get some rest.” He said and vanish in thin air. All the students rush to the box like a hungry boar.

I just stood there at look at them hurriedly taking out the lots. Of course, Luke and Jayce are not joining them. I saw them finding their partners and introducing their selves. When I saw that the students are gathering less at the box that’s when I walk towards it.

I tried to see the inside of the box and I can’t believe it caused the box itself changes lots whenever the person hand goes through the box. So basically, it’s not you who are choosing your lot but the box itself.

“Let me be the first one to get lots.” Jayce said to us and push his hands rashly inside he pulls out the black one. After him there are two students and the next one is Luke, he too gets the black one.

Practically I’m the last one to get a lot. All of the students already found their partners and form their groups. I put my hand inside and pull out the lot. I was shock to see that I get the black one.

“Yes, my prayers are granted. Were on the same room Andrew.” Luke happily said to me while holding both my hands and shaking them back and forth.

“Yeah, I know it’s unbelievable.” I said to him as I try to pull out my hands, but he just held them.

“Now everyone, you have found your group. Can I know which of you gets the Black color?” Peter asked us and the three of us rise our hands. Finally, my hands are free from Luke grasp. I looked at my surroundings and 12 students rising their hands.

“I see, many of you got the Black color. Now let me tell you that Black stick indicates the VIP room which you will have your own kitchen and bathrooms with television. Also, the lots that you drew are not determine because of you but the box itself choose it for you, so none of you must gossip like little baby saying that why this, why that. You’re not in your household so respect what you have given. Still you can get the VIP room if you challenge the holder or owner of the room to a duel and if you win then the room can be yours. Now that’s all, don’t forget to remember the rules.” He said and disappeared again. I heard that some of the guys look exited especially those who have the black stick in their hands. While the others where sad hearing the news. The sticks turned into a key which is tie in our wristband.

“I guess it fates that brought us together Andrew.” Luke said to me as he wraps his hands to mine and pulls me inside the dormitory, while Jayce is following us. The keys have its own number ours is room 7007, basically were at the top floor of the building. The way Luke act, you can clearly can’t recognize that he is the prince.

If he is hiding his identity, then why does his real name appear at the announcement. I clearly remember the name Luke Swan is at the rank 40. I look at him and he just smiled at me weirdly which gives chill through my spines.

“Luke is a dangerous guy. I must be wary of him.” I thought to myself. I didn’t even notice that were already inside of our room because I keep on thinking about Luke.

“Now that we are here, I must set some rules.” I said to them and they both look at me. Jayce sat at the couch while Luke is eating the apple while standing.

“I want to ask who can cook here?” Jayce raise his hands while Luke keep eating silently. “Then Jayce you will be assigned to do the cooking while you Luke will be assigned to do the dishes and I’m assigned to clean the living room. We will laundry are own dirty shirts, and we will be the one to clean are own bed. Is that okay with you?” I asked them, and they just nod. Seriously all they do is nod and rise their hand.

“We must cooperate and strengthen are bond because they’re might be a group battle, so I want to introduce myself again.” I said and stood up in front of them. “I’m Amory Andrew Cullen, son of General James Cullen. As what you saw lately my power is Telekinesis, Telepathy and Speed. My forte is sword. Please take care of me.” Jayce stand up too and shook my hands, Luke too.

“I’m Caelan Jayce Green, son of Norman Green. My powers are Healing while I’m also good at swords.” He said to me, I knew that he is the son of Sir Green, the most renowned healer in our Kingdom.

“Well I’m Prince Lucas Ned Paterson, son of King Jake Paterson due to my father’s order to not let my identity to be discover I’m now having the name Luke Swan. I control fire and I’m also good at archery.” After he introduced himself, he threw the apple he has eaten in the trash can.

“I will bath first.” Luke said and ran towards the bathroom. Not bringing a towel.

“What is wrong with that guy?” I nonchalantly asked Jayce as he prepared his belongings. Our belongings are inside the wristband we just need to click it and the things that are in store in it will go out.

“I don’t know, must be missing his mother or something.” Jayce said as he arranges his clothes. Luckily, we draw out the Black stick because it gives us this privileged to have our own wardrobe. I wash my hands first before arranging my clothes. After an hour Luke finishes his bath, seriously is this even normal? What does he do inside the bathroom? Took him 1 hour to finish taking his bath.

“Took you long enough.” I said to him and he just smile childishly at me.

“Sorry, Andrew I saw something and have a war with it.” He unreasonably said to me and goes inside the room.

I took the bath and it only took me 40 mins to finish, then how come he took more than 1 hour inside. What a mystery!

“What will be our meal for today Jayce?” I asked him while still changing. To my surprise Luke is looking at me intently. “What the hell, dude!”

“Well body figure 100%. You have a great muscle Andrew; I wonder how you work out.” He said and touch my biceps. Which gives me a great chill, I push his hands away from my body.

“Look, Luke the way you approach me is weird do you like me or something?” I asked him while wearing my shirt.

“Yeah, I do like you Andrew.” I’m shock to his direct answered to the point of puking.

“You can’t just say you like someone if you’re not serious.” I said to him and walk towards Jayce whose preparing our meal. Luke is creeping me out, he’s a Prince for goodness sake and this is how he act. I really doubt that he’s the son of that poker face King.

“I like you seriously Andrew.” He said while smiling. Sorry rules but I’m breaking you right now. I read the mind of Luke and you won’t believe it, but he is serious in liking me.

“Dude are you GAY?” I pronounce it slowly for him to know and then he suddenly laughs so hard Jayce laugh too.

I don’t know why but the two of them are laugh at me, I think the both of them planned it. Which angrier me so, seriously first day of living together and they want to make fun of me. They stop laughing when a knife is pointing at their throat.

“Easy Andrew, we are just joking. It’s because you’re so serious that we want to lighten up the mood a little bit.” Luke explained while the knife is still pointing at his throat.

“Not me, it just you Luke.” Jayce said while placing the food at the table. I put down the knife at the table.

“No fair, Jayce you traitor.” Luke said while walking towards me and held my hand. “Please, Andrew don’t be angry anymore.” He said while doing the puppy eye. I don’t know why but I put down the knife and my angrier is gone.

“You’re an Empath.” I said to him, he just smiles while forming a peace sign. And hurriedly sat at the chairs to eat.

Empath is known to feel the emotion of others and it can also control its emotion. Whether he touches you or not. I guess it runs to the family, Queen Clair is known for her Empath powers. Didn’t know that the Prince inherited it.

I too sat down and eat the meal that Jayce cook for us. I can say that he’s a good cook, it so delicious.

“What do you think will happen to us here in the academy?” Luke asked as he chew his foods while looking at us.

“I don’t know but we must always be alert for any possible activity.” Jayce answered and put more rice at Luke plate. He looked at me and gesture if I want another serving but I mutedly said no.

“I’m finish, thank you for this delicious food Jayce. I will sleep first. Wake me up if something is wrong.” I said to them and excuse myself as I head back to bed.

The bed is comforting and because I can see through the roof. I can see the beautiful view of stars. I remember what my Father said to me, that when I find someone who’s eyes shine bright like the stars then that person is my missing piece. I also remember laughing at my Father for what he said but as I observe him look at my Mother. I knew then that my Father found his own jewel, a jewel that only belong to him. I too want to find my very own jewel.

“Andrew wake up!” I heard Jayce voice as he pushes me back and forth slowly to wake me up.

“What is it?” I asked him half-awake, but I didn’t let him speak because I saw smoke coming in our room. “What’s happening?” I said and suddenly stood up and walk out to our bedroom.

As I walk in the living room the smoke keeps on building. I notice that this smoke is not an ordinary one but a poison. I saw a gas mask at the wall and grab it quickly.

“Luke, Jayce grab the mask quickly. This smoke is poisonous.” I said to them and they quickly wear it, as we put the mask on the smoke already cover everything. They can’t see a thing except for me.

“Follow me, and don’t let go.” I said as I pulled the hands of Jayce and I know that he too is holding the hands of Luke. I can see clearly through this smoke so it’s easy for me to walk throughout of our room. When I opened the door, I saw bunch of students lying at the ground lifeless. They must have inhaled the poison gas. I tried to open the window, but it won’t bulged.

I got no choice but to use a sword to break it. When I’m about to let my sword out a guy suddenly appear in front of me and tried to take my mask off. I immediately kick him he flew ten blocks away from me.

“Sorry man, can’t control thy strength.” I said and immediately look at Jayce and Luke. They are not holding their hands. I think someone attack them too, I want to use a chain to chain us all tighter for us not to be separated but I notice that I’m not wearing my gloves. I got no choice but to tear my shirt and tie Luke and Jayce hands, but Jayce pulled a punch at me.

He must have thought that I’m an enemy. I put my arm around his should and whisper.

“Jayce it’s me Andrew, I just want tie you and Luke together.” I said and tie both of their hands. I also tied Jayce hands to my belt I can’t tie his hands to mine because I can’t block properly.

“Jayce do you have your sword with you?” I asked him as we walk slowly to the hall. I can hear the loud shouts and panic of the other students.

“I didn’t bring them.” He said and pulled me back “Wait Luke is falling behind.” I look back and saw other guys fighting Luke, I may not use my sword, but I can surely use my powers. I saw a broom and aim it to them. I saw Luke wipe his sweat and look at us again.

I clearly remember that Luke powers are manipulation of fire. Then we can use it to melt the window. “Luke use your power to melt this window.” I said to him and guide him to the path. He immediately put his hands to the window and secreted fire. This made the window melt and the poisonous gas entered the blank window.

“Luke just light your hands with fire and melt every window you touch. This whole wall is composed of it. Don’t worry if you burned a person because we will move them.” I said to him and I saw his hands secreted even more fire. A fire that color violet, that’s the second to a highest heat of flame.

We both run, as me and Jayce push all the people I saw or run we push them away from the window. I stop running when I notice that the smoke is diminishing slowly. We all catch our breaths as the surroundings became clear. Other students were lying on the grounds some are still standing but all worn out. Except for one person standing in front of us without a mask. I removed my mask and saw Peter smiling at us.

“Congratulation in staying alive. It’s really a good choice to tie both of your friends together.” He said as he looks at the windows which Luke melted. I can sense that Luke is worn out he didn’t have enough rest. Jayce lose the tie in both of us and to Luke.

“Did you plan these?” I asked him. He didn’t answer but instead I read his thoughts. I didn’t like what he just uttered in his thoughts. So, I hurriedly punch him, and he took four steps back.

“Haven’t you have enough of testing us!” I shouted at him and look angrily at the cctv camera beside the wall in front of me. “Enough with the surprise attack this is not a war. This is an academy.”

“Didn’t you know young lad that this academy is WAR itself.” I heard a voice and a man appeared at the back of Peter who’s sitting while wiping his lips. “All of you must be ready for any circumstances. Didn’t your Father teach you that, young lad?” he mockingly said to me as he help Peter stand up.

“Bullshit!” I swear at him, I know this is unacceptable language to say to an adult, but this is too much.

“What a strong mouth you have…” He instantly grabs my neck and push me hard in the wall which made it break. Which made me spits some blood I can also feel some bones break. Now I’m hanging in the air while he’s grabbing my neck. I struggle to let go of his hands. “Young Andrew.” He finishes his sentence and smile.

“Let me go!” I said as I try to pull out his fingertips in my neck. “You, old geezer.” After I said those word’s he laughs really hard and slowly put me to the ground and turn his back at me.

“Really like Father like son.” He looks back at me while slowly touching his beard. “You amuse me just like your Father. Aren’t I right, Peter?”

“Yes, Professor Ains. He’s just liked his Father though James punches are much stronger.” Peter answered and laugh alongside with the old man.

“Your right you didn’t even loose a tooth.” The old man says while laughing really hard.

Here I am sitting at the ground with a few broken bones and they got a nerve to laugh at me. I really can’t understand this academy. Many crazy people swarm here. I hope I won’t be infected.

“Why do you, do these things? Are you here to punish us? And keep on testing us?” I asked the old man and he stop on stroking his beard and look at me.

“Learning through experience is the best learning of all.” He said and walk past by me. He touches my back. “You got a few broken bones.”

“Yeah, I wonder who’s the cause of that.” I muttered, and I think he heard it because he palms punch my back. I clearly heard another bone broke. I yelled at the pain I felt.

“I’m sorry, I want to give you a pat, but I guess I can’t control my strength well.” He innocently said and walk back to Peter side. “This academy will give you different types of pains, activity and surprises. Which might occur in the battlefield, so you don’t have a right to be mad. This is the only way for all of you to be mentally and physically cable of handling any circumstances. You might even thank us in the near future.” He said and walk away from us.

“You don’t have to worry, your broken bones and the students who died here will be revived again. That’s one of the purposes of your wristband.” Peter said to us and run towards to Prof. Ains.

I felt that my wounds in the surface were slowly healing and notice that the wristband is glowing in a green color. Which indicates that is healing me. It’s the same as the color when the Green family heal its patient.

“Let me help you heal your bones Andrew.” Jayce said and softly touches my back, even though he is healing me. I can help but move because of the pain. “Luke hold both of his hands.” Luke immediately sit in front of me and hold my hands to stop me from moving recklessly.

It took him a few hours in healing my bones. All through the healing you can hear my voice echoed to the hall. The pain is gone maybe because of the wristband.

“It finishes earlier than I thought, this wristband helps me to make it quick in healing you.” Jayce said while fixing his clothes.

“Thank you for healing me Jayce and Luke for the help.” I said to them and both pat their shoulder with a smile.

“No worries, after all were sworn brothers now.” Luke said to me as he pats mine too.

“Sworn what?” I asked him, I know what the meaning of the word is, but I didn’t agree to it.

“It means now, the three of us are brothers. Not biologically, after all were not related to each other’s.” Luke said as he smiled brightly at me which annoys me.

“I don’t like it.” I said in this agreement to what he says and stood up to walk towards our room. I saw the dead students come back alive being shock that they are back.

“Why? Is it because you like me, Sweet Andrew?” Luke teasingly said to me. Here we go again.
