" I swear we did not plan any of this, this time around Chloe." Pleads Chesley breathing heavily as she climbs up the stairs trying to catch up with Chloe who is few metres away from entering her office.
Chloe, looking all exhausted and drained, glares at her without uttering any word and continues packing her stuff from the desk, including the laptop.
"I'm sorry big sis, I thought he was…"
"You thought what Chesley?" Chloe furiously cuts her sentence short and leaves her behind, inside the office without even locking the office doors and shoots straight to the parking lot.
Chelsey, without arguing nor running after her sister seeing the state she is in, she takes in a deep breath and thinks of what to do next. She runs her eyes around the whole office in search of the door keys but nothing. She puts her head around the door to see if she can’t find it at the doorknob but still nothing. She then gloomily shuts the door behind her unlocked and heads to the parking lot and also drives to her own place.
It's been an hour and a half since Chloe came back home from the office and from the time she walked in, the only person running through her mind is none other than Busi. Now sitting comfortably on the couch, drooling over Busi's appealing pictures through her cellphone, there her throat strikes a strong quench of whiskey. She puts the phone down on the floor for a moment, stands up to her confined bar not far from the couch she was sitting on, grabs her remaining half bottle of whiskey and a glass and goes back to relax on the couch maintaining the same position as before, is just that this time she feels like the glass has added her some unnecessary work because she constantly must pull it up from the floor for a sip and put it down again. But because what she's doing has the name Busi all over it, she worries less and wishes the night could come to a standstill so she could stare at Busi's pictures the entire night. She really enjoys reminiscing about her, her posture the moment she walked into the interview room from the first time, her aura, her beauty and her contagious smile that brightened up the whole interview room and made all the Judges' jaws dropped.
Now feeling all tipsy and excited, she stands up, wobbles to her own bedroom and stands in front of the mirror beside her bed and starts talking to herself. It's been a while since she does that, the only time she has one on one session with the mirror is when she feels like pinching herself to have accomplished something she thought was beyond her capabilities. In this instance something beyond her capabilities is having been taken by Busi at first sight. She never thought after so many years of having parted ways with her high school girlfriend Anthea, there could still be someone to revive her feelings and make her blood boil like how Busi is doing right now. But what is puzzling her more is that she and Busi haven't spoken on a personal level, nor have they shared anything pertaining to their love life.
For some strange reasons, when she gets closer to the mirror for her one on one session with it, all she sees is a blurry reflection of Busi's face instead of her own reflection. Now stunned and startled, she wipes both her eyes with both hands and gets more closer to the mirror thinking that perhaps she's being delusional since she had few sips of alcohol. The closer she gets to the mirror, the clearer Busi's face becomes. She shockingly switches off the lights and abruptly switches them back on again and faces the mirror again, still Busi's face is starring back at her. Now feeling a bit scared and a little bit confused, she moves away from the mirror and jumps to bed still all dressed up and lights still on. Luckily the few sips of alcohol she took earlier on made her catch the sleep instantly.
The next morning, she gets off the bed and prepares herself with so much caution that her eyes do not have to meet with any mirror inside the house. She takes a shower instead of a normal bathtub mainly because the shower room does not contain a single mirror whereas inside the bathroom the whole room is surrounded by the mirrors and there is no way she won’t take a slight glance at the mirror.
Now fully dressed and ready to leave the house, the reality kicks in that she has not put on a makeup, and she inevitably must have a mirror for that, which is something she's not prepared for. It is in times like these where she feels like she really needs someone to share her space with so they can be her talking mirror at least. She sighs out loudly and silently counts to three and then hesitantly goes on to sit on the bench next to the foot of the bed adjacent to the mirror. She then grabs her makeup bag which is already on top of the mirror table and starts praying in silence while applying the foundation of the makeup. Just when she thought she has defeated the devil with her silent prayer, boom there is Busi's face starring back at her within the mirror, this time around after less than a minute the strange face turns into a wolf.
"Eew!" She screams, running out of the house to the car and leaving all the makeup scattered on the floor.
As she is driving on the highway, she notices that the car driving in front of her is driving at the lower speed and she is compelled to overtake it. She then shifts her front mirror of the car to position it nicely so she could be able to see the other car coming behind before she could swerve her own car to the other lane. Again, Busi's face, still changing into a wolf, is the only thing appearing within the front mirror instead of the other car.
"No, no Busi, please, not when I'm driving." She murmurs to herself, breathing heavily. By this time her face is dripping wet with sweat as if she was running for the marathon.
She hastily moves her eyes away from the mirror with shock still masking her face. She further keeps her hands firm onto the steering wheel and presses harder on the accelerator while keeping to her lane until she reaches her work premises.
