It is a bright and a sunny Sunday, a day suitable for families to cruise on a park for a picnic, couples to take beach walks and for kids to go dive into swimming pools. Chloe surprisingly woke up on her own without the help of an alarm after she and the rest of her sisters went to bed very late last night. She subconsciously finds herself standing and staring back at her picture with Anthea like how she did the previous night. This time because she knows she is not alone in the room, she is trying all she can to suppress her tears, unfortunately the tears are not cooperating with her instead they are already streaming down her face.
Charmaine is startled to wake up to her sister glued up to the wall. She spends another 10 minutes laying on the bed pretending to be asleep hoping to see what Chloe is up to, but she can't see nothing, Chloe's back is obscuring her sight. She silently and cautiously climbs off the bed, moves towards her, delicately wraps her arms around her waist, and rests her chin on top of her right shoulder, to also gaze at the picture. “You must really be missing her hey?” the empathy in Charmaine's voice makes her feel whole again.
“She was a good friend, the only friend I had.” declares Chloe
“I know, and I miss her too. And I am certain Chesley and Christie also miss her." responds Charmaine
“Yeah, sure they do." Chloe shifts to go sit on the bed.
“She was a good friend indeed, but I always wonder if she ever acknowledged the friendship we had with her same way we did. I mean for her to just leave like…?"
"Of course, she did." Chloe cuts her sentence short with a very defensive tone as she hastily stands up from the bed and makes her way to the bathroom to wipe off the tears from her face then shoots straight to the kitchen, not allowing Charmaine any platform to respond back.
As said earlier on, Chloe and Anthea went to the same high school, so did Chloe's sisters. This means Chloe's three sisters became friends with Anthea as well with Chloe of course becoming more closer with her because of the strong connection they had which later turned into romance.
When Chloe gets into the kitchen, already her mom, dad, Chesley and Christie are already on the table having breakfast except for the sisters’ rascals.
"Oops, you guys are up so early. Dad, so good to see you." She hugs her dad and pulls out the chair to sit next to him as she joins in on the breakfast.
"Mom told me you are coming down with a flu hence you couldn't wake up to see me last night when I arrived." Adds Chloe
"Yeah, but I'm feeling much better now, and how are you coping without Kevin?"
"Dad, can you guys now stop asking my sister about Kevin. He's now history." Charmaine defends Chloe as she emerges from the bedroom to also join in on the table
After the breakfast the Hemiltons' sisters all stood up to take a shower in different rooms but Chesley, Christie and Charmaine all finished at the same time and are now waiting for Chloe in the lounge. Few minutes later, Chloe also comes out looking as good as always but not as good and glamorous as her three sisters.
"Hmmm, you guys are looking very elegant. Why wasn't I told to get the same outfit also?" acclaims Chloe as she scrutinizes their outfit from head to toes.
The three sisters are all dressed up in mini tight dresses with different colours but same pattern revealing their cleavage, complimented by the see-through high heels and clutch bags matching with their dresses. Just when Chloe was fiddling with the material of their dresses, admiring what her eyes are seeing, her mom calls out for her to come into her bedroom. To Chloe’s surprise, her yellow dress with the same pattern as her sisters' and the clutch bag are also placed nicely on her parents' bed, as well as the heels on the floor next to the bed.
"Wow, is this mine?" Chloe asks excitedly, picking up the dress from the bed to put onto her petit body, followed by her heels. The dress fits perfectly as if it was designed on her body.
The four sisters then exit the house, leaving the rascals behind with their grandparents. Chloe, without asking, passes her car keys to Charmaine. She knows Charmaine loves driving her cars mainly because their registration plates are personalized with the bold letters 'MISS USA' followed by the year in which Chloe was crowned.
The minute Charmaine parks the car in front of the Eminent club, Chloe's face crinkled in despondency, but her mood completely changes when she thinks of the possibilities of seeing Stacey, the waitress. She is probably thinking she might get a chance to interact with her since she wasn’t able to the last time she was there with Sandra.
"Do you love the place big sis?" asks Charmaine as she locks hands with Chloe and leads her to their booked table.
"Yeah sure it's nice, I love it." Chloe gives out a smirk.
"We knew you were going to like it because it's more of your class." Christie backs Charmaine's statement up.
Few seconds after all four sisters have occupied their table, Jada walks in through the club’s entrance. He is having his eyes side to side searching for the table where he can spot Chesley, apparently he only knows Chesley amongst the Hemiltons’ sisters. Luckily Chesley spotted him first and waves at him to come to the table. Him and Chesley met at the book launch of some friend a week ago and they just gelled. Chesley got taken by his physique and charm and automatically considered him a perfect match for Chloe. Both Christie and Charmaine could not help but drool over this tall and good-looking man approaching their table while Chloe only took a glance at him and continued searching for Stacey with her eyes.
“And who is this prince charming Chesley?” whispers Charmaine into Chesley’s ear.
“Chloe’s blind date, I hope she also sees him that way.” Chesley whispers back to Charmaine before doing a thorough introduction.
"Guys, please meet my friend, Jada. Jada and I met at the book club, he is the author and a founder of Black and White Publishing Company.” Chesley says peering at all her three sisters but her eyes are fixed at Chloe to assess her facial expression. Chloe on the other hand, her reaction is indistinct. Chesley then shifts her eyes to face at Jada’s direction. “Jada, please meet my sisters. This one next to me is Charmaine, she is the youngest.” She points at Charmaine’s direction. “And that one with the pink dress is Christie, born second and the one with yellow dress is Chloe, our eldest sister I had been telling you about.” She says pointing at both Christie and Chloe from across the table.
“You have such beautiful sisters.” Jada responds to Chesley “I am so pleased to meet you all.” He adds as he runs his eyes over the three sisters and keeping a stare at Chloe. “It is our pleasure to meet you too Jada.” All three sisters respond at the same time.
Chesley then quickly excuses herself to the bathroom and winks to the other three to follow her so that Chloe and Jada can be left alone on the table. The three sisters indeed follow her strategically, without giving Chloe any suspicions.
“So, Chloe, do you mind telling me a little bit about yourself.” Asks Jada.
Before Chloe could open her mouth to respond to him, there is Stacey standing in front of their table introducing herself as their waiter for the day. Chloe felt her knees tremble listening to Stacey’s soothing voice as she speaks. She hates herself right now for not having stayed longer the first time she came with Sandra. Her face lightens up as Stacey asks them if they are ready to order. She pulls herself together remembering that she is not alone but with Jada. “Hmm, do you mind if we wait for my sisters?” Asks Chloe, piercing through Stacey's eyes with the face full of smiles.
“Yeah sure, no problem ma’am. I will be standing at that corner facing your table.” Stacey points to the direction she will be standing in as she turns her small ass around to go.
“Before you go, haven’t you ever pictured yourself being crowned as the next Miss USA?” Suggests Chloe.
Stacey takes a step back to give Chloe undivided attention but still not sure of what Chloe is talking about.
“I mean I was just observing your body and it is so perfect for pageants.” Adds Chloe as she keeps her eyes at the direction her sisters took earlier on. She is now intentionally prolonging their conversation with Stacey as a way of killing time until the sisters come back to join them at the table so she could keep looking inside Stacey's charming eyes.
Stacey giggles and scratches her head before responding. “You mean as in like modelling with bikinis and stuff?”
The sisters finally emerge from the corner and Chloe takes out her business card from her bag and gives it to Stacey encouraging her to check their website and send through her application for the new Miss USA competition. Stacey just sighs loudly, takes the business card and shoves it inside the front pocket of her apron and takes everyone’s orders.
