#16 The Perks That Come With The Crown

Busi, as much as she would like to believe that Chloe is straight, she does not understand why she is suddenly feeling an intense connection with her though. If her memory serves her well, this is not the first time Chloe hugs her yet she still feels a frisson of something travel down her spine. Could it just be an illusion or she is really beginning to lose her mind?

"Why am I distressing myself so much when I have someone close who can give me all the answers I need." She says silently to herself as she turns back to go inside the house to demand Pride's attention.

Pride is having her apron on, buzy marinating some meat next to the stove when suddenly Busi steps inside and grabs her by the hand and forces her to go sit on the bed inside their bedroom which they have now turned into both interrogation and gossip room.

"No, no roomie, I am too hungry to go sit in there." Pride lets loose of her hand from her and continues grilling the meat.

"Come on Pride, Are you not full from all sorts of food you ate at the event? Asks Busi, leaning her elbow on the sink not far from the stove and rests her cheek on her own hand, to watch Pride act like one of the Eminent's club's chefs.

"Those amounts of foods could only be eaten by people of your size and stay full the whole year. Not me."

Busi could not help but laugh at Pride's silly joke about beauty queens.

"Now, come on. What do you wanna talk about? I know it can only be that billionaire boss of yours who calls shots on everything and everyone. Damn, that woman is monied I tell you, did you see that limited edition dress she was wearing?" Pride claps once, opening her eyes widely to make sure Busi gets what she is talking about. "I am not talking about the shoes, let alone the bag, Geez, as for her personal driver, you can see you need to be an experienced driver with standards in order to be her driver." Adds Pride

"Come on now Pride, you are exaggerating. By the way, all I wanted to say is that…." Busi pauses a bit, rolls her eyes and drools. "All I wanted to say is that she gave me a hug, and for some reason, the hug was not some kind of an ordinary one, it was tense and had some flames in it." adds Busi, unaware of her facial expression full of love.

"Busi, that woman is head over heels in love with you. I saw how she was looking at you the entire time. Imagine organizing her own driver to drive you. Girl." Pride bends down to take out the meat from the oven as she gives Busi that look which says, 'start believing in yourself girl.'

They both indulge in their dinner and few glasses of wine then call it a night.

The next morning, when Busi checks her text messages, she could not believe what her eyes woke up to. She could not help but jumps out of the bed, screaming out loud disturbing poor Pride up from her deep sleep.

"Oh my God, I am going to own an apartment and a car." she jumps up and down with excitement whilst still holding her phone in the hand.

"Really now, so early in the morning, what is it?" Pride asks with the sleepy voice, rolling out of bed and wiping out the sleep from her eyes using both her hands.

Busi, unable to speak, she just throws the phone to Pride who then read the text out loud from the phone.

'Congratulations Ms Busisiwe Dube, the newly crowned Miss USA. You are advised to come to CMA building to sign papers of your new home and your new car. Please bring in your Identity book and driver's license if you are in possession of one.

"You go girl. What are you waiting for? Go take a shower and go collect what is rightfully yours." Pride excitedly throws the phone back to her and pulls up the sheets to go back to sleep

"You kidding me right, there is no way I am leaving you behind. You are coming with me." Busi fiercely removes the sheets off her face so they both take a shower together and head to the CMA building thereafter.

Chloe's office door is widely opened and her desk is facing right at the direction of the door and she can clearly see anyone coming through. She felt her heart beat faster after noticing small n*****s piercing through Pride's transparent t-shirt after they sat down on the chairs from across her desk to face her.

She quickly stands up and extends her arm for hand shakes to recollect herself so that she appears calmer. She is shocked that Pride is actually a woman whereas she was mistaking her for a man the first time she saw her at the Miss USA finale.

"You could not wait for yet another day." Chloe teases Busi. She then clears her throat as she sits back on her chair to hand Busi the papers to sign. Busi, not sure if she should proceed signing the car's papers even if she does not possess a driver's license, she pauses a moment and asks Chloe of the way forward. "I do not have a driver's license, should I sign the papers still?"

"Of course, of course." Chloe responds vehemently.

"I will teach you." Accidentally both Chloe and Pride say at the same time looking at Busi.

All the three of them giggle with Chloe remaining to feel embarrassed, but as always, she keeps her head held up high as if nothing happened. Busi then hands the signed papers back to Chloe.

"Now follow me." orders Chloe, leading the way out but Pride continues to sit down

"You can also come." Adds Chloe, looking at Pride's direction

Busi again, could not believe what her eyes are seeing, the latest SUV Mercedes -AMG GLS 63, worth $200,000 dollars parked inside one of the CMA garages.

She covers her eyes with both hands, trying to stop the tears of joy rolling down her face. Chloe gets close to her and embraces her while wiping tears off her face. Pride also joins in and they make a group hug. Chloe then breaks the hug and moves next to the car.

"Come, get inside for your next big surprise." Chloe throws the keys of Busi's new car to Winston who have been inside the car the whole time. All three of them climb in and Winston drives off to Busi's new apartment.

For a second, Busi thought they were at Chloe's house when Winston stops the car at this fancy, extravagant yet big yard which can accommodate three more mansions. They climb off the car and the securities, without asking them anything because they are with Chloe, open for them. Busi nearly fainted, seeing a five fully furnished bedroom mansion with three bathrooms, two separate shower rooms and three garages, complemented by a large swimming pool outside.

"Does this house really belong to me?" asked Busi, this time crying hysterically to a point where Winston had to wait few minutes longer before driving them back home.
