Chapter 41
“Oh my Goddess! Kana!” I squeal, hugging my friend tightly. I could not be more excited for her, especially knowing her and Kenji had been trying for so long.
“It’s not confirmed. I’ve learned to not get my hopes up,” she shrugs, but I can already see the glimmer of hope in her eyes.
“Kana, Opal all but confirmed it,” I reassure her. I turn to Opal for confirmation, but she’s nowhere to be seen. So much for needing to train with me.
“I know, I just can’t allow myself to hope only to be crushed again.”
“Why don’t we find out together?” I suggest, rubbing my hand up and down Kanas back. Her eyes light up at my suggestion.
“I’d like that,” she smiles, tucking a loose strand of purple hair behind her ear. She bites her lip and opens her mouth to speak, but quickly shuts it.
