Chapter 39
After we’ve cleaned ourselves up, we make our way down to the kitchen. When I peek in, I see that it’s overrun with all the different staff trying to keep up with all the newcomers. I make a mental note to do something special for them once all the other packs leave. That is, if we survive.
I spot Kana sitting at the kitchen island and she pulls out the seat beside her. Her vibrant hair is in a messy bun at the top of her head and she’s wearing simple black leggings and a white cropped tee. She looks me over and smiles when she realizes we’re unintentionally matching. I plop myself in the seat and search for something to eat. I can feel Kana’s eyes on me, and when I meet her gaze, she’s looking at me suspiciously.
“What?” I suddenly wondered if I had toothpaste on my face.
