Jade walked into the house and went straight to her room.
She locked the door behind her but jumped in fright when she turned and spotted Xavier sitting on the edge of her bed, a glass of alcohol in his left hand.
“Did you have fun?” he asked as he slowly stood up.
“Um… yeah.” She stayed pressed against the door.
That was when she noticed how scattered her room looked.
Is he drunk?
“Anything happened that I should know?” he asked.
Jade swallowed. She didn’t need anyone to tell her—he already knew. Of course he did.
She reached for the door to flee, but Xavier was faster. He grabbed her and threw her to the floor.
“Why are you running?” He looked down at her as he slowly knelt beside her.
