Jade woke up with a start because of a noise in her room.
Maria was taking her clothes out of the closet.
"What are you doing!?" She sat up with a yawn.
"Good morning, ma'am. I'm cleaning." Maria gave her a little bow.
"What? You think my things are trash or what!?" Jade angrily jumped off the bed and roughly snatched her clothes away, making the poor girl jump in fear. "That blouse you're holding costs more than your life!"
"And I'll pay for them," Xavier said from behind.
Jade quickly turned and saw him standing near her bed.
How didn't she see him there?
"Don't you have the decency to wake me up before touching my things?" she asked him.
"Next time, wake up early," he answered.
Jade looked at her alarm clock.
Five minutes past eleven.
"And so what? I don't do anything except sleep, eat, and walk around. And why the f**k are you taking out my things?" She angrily walked toward him.
"I'll replace them with something I like," he simply said.
"I'm the one wearing them. What about what I want?" She tossed the blouse onto the bed.
He signaled Maria to carry on.
"You have horrible taste," he said and picked up the blouse.
"Do you even know where I got that blouse? It is custom-made and personally signed by the brand manager of Prada!" she angrily replied.
"I can get you a more expensive one personally made and signed by Donatella Versace herself." He walked away. "Get dressed. We're going out."
Then he left.
Jade angrily watched Maria take away all her things.
She changed into the last dress she had saved.
"Where are we going?" Jade asked the moment she sat in the car beside Xavier.
"You'll see."
Those were the only words he uttered until his driver parked in front of a building.
Jade looked at the dishes lined up in front of her.
"Are you hungry?" She scrunched up her face.
"No. You didn't eat breakfast or lunch. Bon appétit."
He only watched her eat.
"I don't eat this much. All I see are calories. Are you trying to make me fat? This body didn't just happen, you know."
"Better, because I'm not a fan of fat."
After some minutes, he took her to a boutique.
"Oh my God! I've been dying to come here!" she exclaimed as she stared at Sark's Fifth Avenue.
Xavier led her inside, and a tall, slim woman approached them.
"Xavier!" She kissed him on both cheeks.
That was the first time Jade had heard anyone address him by his first name.
"Adele." He gave her a courteous smile.
"And who's this fine lady?" Adele hugged Jade to her dismay. "Finally found the one, huh?" She eyed the diamond on Jade's finger.
"What can I say?" He laughed deeply.
"Treat her well." She pointed at him and led them to a private room. "Unfortunately, I can't stay with you, but I have someone good. Have fun. Not too much fun, though."
Adele kissed him and left.
A brunette walked in wearing a tight, short dress.
"At your service." She smiled at both of them.
Xavier sat down and motioned for Jade to go with her.
"Anything you try on, I want to see," he smirked.
Jade walked to the dressing room.
She tried on countless dresses, all of which looked surprisingly beautiful on her.
"I must say, you have great taste," the lady said, offering Xavier a glass of water while trying to draw his attention to herself.
"Yes, I do."
He couldn't take his eyes off Jade, who was admiring herself in a mirror.
The lady rolled her eyes and walked away.
"Okay, ma'am. We are done with the dresses."
"Thank heavens! I'm tired! Can we go now?" Jade turned to him.
"We aren't done yet," he replied.
"But I've been trying on different dresses for like an hour now! I want to go, Xavier!" Jade sighed.
"Just a little more," the woman said.
"This is the last segment, I promise. It's just for you to put on some thongs and panties for me." He smiled as he watched her expression.
"Thongs? No!" She shook her head.
"There's nothing to be shy about, ma'am. You are going to get married anyway," the brunette chirped in.
"Shut up!" Jade walked to Xavier. "You didn't tell me this was part of it! I came here for the new dresses."
"And what are you going to wear under those dresses? Unless you want to be naked, because I threw out all your underwear too," he casually said.
Jade had to control her next words because of the innocent lady in the room.
"Like she said, we are getting married. Don't be so shy."
Jade angrily followed the woman.
"Come on, Jade!" she heard his voice.
She couldn't decide whether or not to step out. If he saw her like this, it would be another step toward letting him completely in.
But she wanted to see the look in his eyes.
Would he love her body or hate it?
At that moment, Jade wished she was a model.
She sheepishly walked out, her legs almost like jelly. She didn't want to see the look on his face, so she looked away.
"I like this," he finally said.
Jade stared at herself in the mirror and then back at him.
He wore a satisfied smile as his gaze slowly traveled over her figure.
"Next."
He liked her body.
The way he looked at her told her everything.
After multiple fittings, Jade finally felt comfortable enough around him.
"Just one more."
"This is the last one."
She stepped out, and he couldn't take his eyes off her.
"Turn around," he commanded.
She did.
He studied her for a moment.
"This is for our wedding night." He smiled.
Xavier swiped his gold card and took her shoe shopping.
He also bought her expensive accessories and other things she might need.
At dinner, he handed a phone to her.
"Mine!?" She smiled and quickly took it from him.
She thought she'd never have access to the internet or her parents again.
"Only dial the numbers on it," he warned.
Jade tapped the screen a couple of times and finally lifted her head with a frown.
"But my parents' number isn't in it," she complained.
"You don't have permission to talk to or contact them," he simply said.
"I can't talk to my father and mother? Then what is the use of this phone? Only your number is saved on it!" she angrily replied.
Xavier loudly set his glass down on the table.
"Should I take it back?"
"No! But what about my friends?"
"You don't have friends anymore. You're only allowed to call me. Understand?" he hoarsely asked.
She nodded.
"Whatever." She looked away.
Not only would she be trapped forever, but he would make sure he permanently erased her entire existence and wiped away every trace of her.
She needed to act fast.
