‘Lothnar, I am not walking away from this.’ said Leyla, vehemently.
‘Very well. In which case, I will treat you no differently to the others. Fall in line with your comrades, you are part of the scout regiment now.’
He watched with interest as Leyla took her place amongst the veterans arrayed before him. Some paid her little or no attention, though there were others who gave her disdainful glares signalling their disapproval. Despite their obvious disrespect, he overlooked their slights given their veteran status – each had earned a degree of leniency given their lengthy service to The Blade
