Chapter Five

We ran until I couldn’t anymore. My legs were giving out, and I could barely breathe. The howls were growing distant, but I kept imagining them getting closer. Rowan noticed I was slowing down. He stopped, turned, and lifted me without asking. One arm under my knees, the other around my back. I wrapped my arms around his neck and buried my face in his shoulder. “You’re too tired,” he said. “I’ve got you.” He carried me the rest of the way. His steps were heavy and uneven from his wounds. Every few minutes,s he flinched when a branch brushed a bite mark. Warm blood from his side dripped onto my leg, then turned cold. I felt guilty, but I was too exhausted to argue. I just held on tighter. When the lodge lights finally appeared through the trees, relief washed over me. Rowan kicked the front door open, carried me inside, and bolted it shut. The silence felt almost unreal. He set me down gently on the big couch. Under the lights, I could see how bad his injuries were, deep bites on his ribs and shoulder still bleeding. I ran to the kitchen, grabbed towels, warm water, and the first-aid kit, then knelt between his legs. “Hold still,” I said, pressing a towel to the gash on his side. He hissed but didn’t move. “You did well out there.” I cleaned the wound carefully. “That silver wolf… the Luna. She helped us so much tonight. Why would she risk everything like that?” Rowan leaned back, watching me. His hand rested on my shoulder, thumb brushing slowly. “I don’t know her. Never seen her before tonight.” He winced as I pressed on the cut. “Most wolves follow the Alpha without question. Helping outsiders like us… she put her life on the line. She could be in serious trouble now.” I taped the gauze in place. “She seemed different from the others.” “Yeah,” he said softly. “She really did.” I finished wrapping his injuries, then carefully sat on his lap. His arms came around me. We stayed like that for a while, just breathing. Then he kissed me. Slow at first. Our lips moved together, deep and unhurried. His hand slid under my torn skirt, stroking my thighs while I rocked gently against him. He took his time. His fingers moved between my legs, sliding through my wetness. He rubbed slow circles over my c**t until I was breathing harder. Then he pushed one finger inside me, then two, moving them steadily. I moaned softly against his mouth, hips rolling to meet his hand. “Easy,” he whispered. “Let me feel you.” He kept fingering me like that for a long time, curling his fingers and stroking that perfect spot until my thighs shook. I reached down and stroked his c**k slowly, matching his rhythm. He was rock hard and throbbing. After a while, he pulled his fingers out, lifted me higher, and lined himself up. I sank onto him inch by inch. We both groaned. He filled me. I stayed still for a moment, just feeling him deep inside, before I started moving. I rode him slow and deep. Rowan’s hands gripped my hips, guiding me gently. Every time I sank, he pushed up to meet me. He kissed my neck, my shoulders, and my breasts, taking his time while I moved on him. “You feel so good,” he murmured. “So warm… so f*****g tight.” I wrapped my arms around his neck and kissed him again. The rhythm stayed slow but intense. When I finally came, it rolled through me in long, deep waves. I clenched around him, moaning into his mouth. Seconds later, he groaned and came too, holding me tight as he spilt inside me. I stayed on his lap afterwards, our arms around each other, his face buried in my neck. Then the visions hit me hard. Flashes filled my head. I saw the silver wolf running. Two big wolves caught her. Her fur turned red with blood. Her eyes stared straight at me, scared and desperate. I gasped and pulled back. “Rowan… the silver wolf. They caught her. They’re hurting her right now because she helped us.” His face tightened. Before he could answer, a loud bang came from the front door. Something heavy slammed against it. We both froze. The banging came again. Harder. The whole door shook violently. Rowan stood up fast, ignoring his pain, and pushed me behind him. “Stay here,” he said, his voice low and calm. The door shook violently again.
