CHAPTER THREE

Alighting from the taxi she boarded and stepping right in front of the tall building with countless floors, Skyler smirked and adjusted her dress while making sure she had enough makeup to make herself appealing. SKYE'S CORPORATION was written boldly with gold on the huge fence behind her, she was ready for the day, ready to start working as his secretary and ready to make life miserable for the supposed personal assistant.

She walked into the building beaming with smiles and grinning from ear to ear. "Good morning Miss" she said to the receptionist who also just checked in. "Good morning, how may I help you"

"I'm Skyler Jones, the new secretary to the CEO"

"Oh right, my apologies for not recognizing you sooner." She rumbled through her drawer and brought out a key. "That's the key to your office miss, it's right in front of the CEO's office. Do you need the map or guidance to navigate through to the office?"

"No, thank you. I can find my way around"

"Okay then. Enjoy your first day at work" the receptionist smiled at the figure who was already walking away.

**Right in front of his office huhn... Nice** she thought as she made her way through to the elevator.

"16th floor?" The lady in the elevator asked

"Yes" Skyler responded.

"Oh hi, I'm Chloe Anderson. I just resumed today and I'm working as the CEO's personal assistant" Chloe said smiling and stretching her hand for a handshake

'Chloe?! This little b***h'

Skyler gave her a piercing glare and looked away frowning with disgust. Chloe retracted her hands, quietly smiled and adjusted her posture wondering why the lady was so grumpy that early in the morning.

Ding! They both stepped out of the elevator and had their jaws dropping at the sight in front of them. The space was so beautiful yet formal with two way mirrored glasses as the barriers demarcating one office from the other. Floral decorations and paintings were attached to some part of the office and the arrangement was touche.

Skyler stepped forward and swirled around with giggles. 'This is so beautiful. Definitely my type of office environment. So comfortable... Hmmm' she said to no one in particular and took the teddy bear on the couch squeezing it like it was a cat. She opened the door to her office, sat down and spun with the chair before abruptly stopping when she saw Chloe walking into the boss's office.

"Where do you think you are you going?" She said

"Oh, sorry. I was told I'll be staying in the same compartment as the boss. Is this not his office?"

'In the same office!?! Urgh,This is so infuriating? Who is this little brat?' Skyler screamed internally.

" Mtchhheeww..." Skyler turned away and checked her drawer leaving Chloe's question unanswered

'What did I ever do to this lady' Chloe thought and walked in. As soon as she stepped in her bag fell from her hand at the sight in front of her. The entry was beautiful but this? This place is elegant. It breaths power and authority whilst looking glorious. She stepped in and ran around looking at the views and the paintings, dog walked to her section of the compartment and touched each piece of furniture and design like it was a baby that she couldn't afford to hold too tight due to it's delicacy.

"Are you done?!"

"Arrgh!" Chloe screamed while turning around to lock eyes with the man who had walked in minutes earlier only to find his supposed personal assistant gawking at the office like she wouldn't be resuming there everyday.

Chloe was stunned. The breathtaking view in front of her rendered her speechless. It was as if the whole building had disappeared and the beauty was embedded in one man. He walked in fully and Chloe was able to access all his features. He had a tall and slim figure with broad chest like a runway model, curled strands of his dark hair fell directly to his forehead, and he has brown? Dark eyes? Chloe wasn't able to tell as the eyeball itself emanated fierceness and she couldn't look for long unless she wanted to be considered weird on her first day.

"Are you listening?"

"Huhn?..." Chloe said batting her eye lashes as she was brought back to reality

"How am I supposed to work with someone this daft?" Corey muttered

"I'm sorry sir. Good morning, uhm... Welcome to the office?"

What Chloe was supposed to say, she had no idea but she knew she had to say something and whatever it was her mouth was going to split, she was ready to let it out.

" I told this man I didn't need a personal assistant. What type of human welcomes her boss to his own office"

Corey said and dropped his suitcase while removing his jacket exposing some part of his arm giving Chloe access to savour the masculinity and muscularity.

Chloe hastily turned back to go back to her cubicle when she hit a glass frame that fell on the floor and shattered.

"You owe me six thousand dollars" Corey said referring to the item she just broke

"Sir?!" Chloe was surprised "six thousand dollars? How am I supposed to get that type of money? This doesn't even look like they cost up to 500 bucks" Chloe's voice held a bit of disgust and anger and even if she didn't want to talk, her mouth definitely wasn't ready to corporate

"A blabber mouth too" Corey said as if he was taking notes.

Chloe was about to respond before she decided against trading words or making herself look pitiful. She gently went back to her office, sat down and braced herself to get ready for the day.

**Skyler's Office**

She could hear mutterings but of course she couldn't see those inside. She was boiling of anger and jealousy.

' I should be the one conversing with him' she said to herself, pacing around in circles.

Without thinking twice she walked into their office pretending to attend to the bin.

"And whose thrash is this?" Corey said referring to the human being that just walked into his office...disgusted at the audacity she had to barg in without permission and rumble around in his office.

"Uhm, boss I was thinking I should attend to the thrash cans, we have to keep everywhere clean... you know" Skyler said bending over to pick the thrash can while intentionally revealing some part of her cleavage.

"Out" Corey said with a soft yet agitated voice.

"Sir, I just want to make sure everything is well arranged to your comfort..."

"It seems I'll have to get you out of this company too"

"Sorry, boo, I mean, boss" Skyler said and walked out of the office intentionally making her backside wiggle and flipped her hair right before stepping out.

Though his voice held some sort of energy that emanated authority that she couldn't help but shiver a bit, Skyler was a pro and she obviously wasn't going to back down.

*We go again in the next thirty minutes* Skyler said to herself and smirked. *You are so going to bed with me Mister, can't let such handsomeness pass me by* she said seductively and walked back to her office.
