CHAPTER 53
A knock on the door brought Noah and Aaron to a halt in their conversation.
“Come in,” Noah stated.
The door opened and revealed the butler, Sir George.
“Greetings, your Highness, and my Lord.” he bowed and greeted. “The lady from House Taylor is looking for you, your highness.”
Aaron turned to Noah with furrowed eyebrows. “Lady Taylor?” he repeated confusedly. However, Noah ignored him and looked at Sir George instead.
“Bring her to the drawing room. I’ll be there in a minute.” Noah ordered.
Sir George lowered his head and went out of the office to carry out His Highness’ orders. Noah then neatened his table and prepared himself to leave.
He turned to Aaron again who still looks puzzled.
“Aaron, make sure to do everything I told you as soon as possible. We are running out of time,” he said.
Aaron was still confused that he only managed to nod his head. Noah patted his shoulder and went out of the office.
After being left alone, Aaron thought to himself,
Lady Taylor? What does she have to do with His Highness?
He looked at the door and tilted his head.
Wait... Don’t tell me-- is His Highness cheating on my sister?!
.
“Lady Taylor, I apologize for keeping you waiting.” Noah greeted as he entered the drawing room.
Lady Beatrice then stood up and did a curtsy. “Greetings, your highness,” she said. “Please, I didn’t wait that long. Also, I should be the one apologizing for visiting without notice.”
Noah also wondered about her sudden visit, but he figured it might be because of that strange sensation that the two of them experienced.
“It’s alright. Please have a seat.”
Noah and Lady Beatrice sat across from each other. A maid then entered and served some refreshments. After the maid left, Noah was the first to speak.
“What do I owe your visit, Lady Taylor?” he asked.
It took Lady Beatrice a while before answering,
“It’s about the one I mentioned before, your highness.” she sighed. “It's been bothering me for a few days now, your highness. So much that I couldn't get a good night's sleep. That’s why, even if it’s rude, I thought I should look for you.”
Lady Beatrice lowered her head and acted dispirited. Noah, on the other hand, nodded his head.
He was also bothered by that strange sensation, but maybe because he was too busy these days, he forgot about it.
“I see...then, what are you planning to do?” Noah asked.
Lady Beatrice looked up and her eyes sparkled with anticipation.
The truth was, she was more interested in spending more time with His Highness than actually solving that mysterious feeling they felt. She just has this feeling that His Highness and her have this...special connection.
“I--I think we should find the answer to this issue as soon as possible, your highness,” she answered.
“How do you intend to do that?”
Lady Beatrice was taken aback for a while.
“Uh...well...” she stuttered and looked around as she struggled to come up with something to reply. Then, an idea popped into her mind. “Ah, right! I think it has something to do with magic. I mean, what else can explain that feeling except for magic, right? So, how about asking the magic tower about it, your highness?”
Noah stared at her for a while.
Magic Tower?
First, Tatiana wanted to talk to Cali Williams. Then, Lady Taylor wanted to inquire about the Magic Tower.
Why do these ladies keep insisting on the Magic Tower? But on second thought, Lady Taylor made sense.
The strange sensation they felt when staring at each other’s eyes might have something to do with magic. If not, then Noah couldn’t explain why this happens to them.
“Alright. I’ll inform you after I set an appointment.” Noah said.
Lady Beatrice smiled victoriously.
Great! That means I have another reason to meet His Highness.
“Okay, your highness. Then, I’ll wait for your letter,” she responded and grinned widely.
