A knight knocks on Tatiana's door after a few moments.
“His Highness has arrived, my lady,” The knight reported from the other side of the door.
“Alright. I’ll be downstairs in a minute.” Tatiana replied.
She grabbed the velvet box and fixed her dress one last time before leaving her room. Mia followed behind her.
As Tatiana walked down the stairs, she saw His Highness with the duke and the duchess at the main entrance.
Tatiana had met His Highness before, but she still couldn't stop herself from gasping at his exquisite beauty.
Carl doesn't even come close to His Highness' appearance. Tatiana thought to herself as she took her time admiring His Highness' looks.
His Highness was only standing there casually saying something to the Duke, yet his tall stature and well-proportioned body made him stand out like no other.
He was dressed casually in a white dress shirt, black trousers, and black dress shoes. He didn't style his hair and left it messy, as if he simply ran his fingers through it, yet it still looks perfect on him.
Also, Tatiana noticed His Highness was holding something in his left hand, but she couldn’t see it from her current position.
Anyways, that’s not important. The point is, even though His Highness was not dressed in his usual prince suit, he still managed to look regal and divine! Is it even possible for a man to be this good-looking?
She sighed. Life is indeed unfair…
“Tati, you’re here.” Duchess Annabelle said when she noticed Tatiana. Duke Michael and His Highness also halted from their conversation to look at her.
Tatiana quickly walked closer to them and did a curtsy to His Highness.
“Your Highness, have you been well?” She greeted.
The duke was grinning from ear to ear as he looked at Tatiana, while His Highness only gave her a small nod and stared at her with an unreadable expression.
Noah looked at her from head to toe. He knew Tatiana has unparalleled beauty, but today she looked especially stunning that he couldn’t help but be speechless.
She was wearing a purple outdoor dress that looked way too plain compared to what she usually wears. It lacked huge ruffles and ribbons, and it wasn't as vibrant as her previous outfits. However, Noah thought her new style made her look more mature and attractive.
She’s not even wearing a lot of accessories, yet she still looks dazzling. He thought to himself.
Meanwhile, Tatiana turned to the duke and the duchess and greeted them as well by kissing their cheeks.
“Tati, you look very beautiful.” Duke Michael complimented.
“Thank you, father. My maids put a lot of effort styling me.” Tatiana said and beamed.
How surprising… she even knows how to be humble. Noah thought as he remembered how Tatiana would act arrogantly before whenever someone complimented her. And because Tatiana had a very excessive pride in herself, she would also have never mentioned her maids’ efforts like this.
Noah grinned in amusement.
“Really? But I think it’s because my daughter is naturally beautiful.” The duke said and chuckled.
Tatiana smiled shyly.
“Hmm… then I think it’s because I took after mother.” She played along, making the duke pout. Duchess Anabelle and Tatiana laughed at his reaction.
“Alright, alright. I can’t deny that. You do look after your mother. You’re both beautiful.” Duke Michael said, smiling.
On the other hand, Noah was looking at the three of them with a smile on his face.
He never thought Tatiana would be this close to her parents. He thought Tatiana only knew how to coax her parents into getting what she wanted. But now,
She looked truly happy…
“Ah, your highness, I apologize you have to witness that.” The duke said when he remembered His Highness was still with them.
Noah immediately returned to his expressionless face when the three of them looked at him. He shook his head.
“Please, don’t mind me. I’m only elated to see the three of you happy.” He said.
Duke Michael laughed.
“I hope that didn’t change your impression of me, your highness. I am still the cool-headed Grand Duke everyone knows.” He joked.
Noah smiled and shook his head at the duke’s unexpected perkiness.
“Alright, your grace. I’ll keep that in mind.” He played along, making the duke and duchess grin at him.
Then, Noah remembered the thing he was holding. He cleared his throat and turned to Tatiana.
“Tatiana, this is for you.” He said and gave it to her.
“For…me?” she muttered as she stared at it confusedly. She did notice His Highness holding something earlier, but she forgot about it since she was distracted by how handsome His Highness was in his casual attire.
“Yes,” Noah answered.
Noah gave Tatiana a large bouquet of lavender roses with little diamond pieces scattered around it, causing it to glimmer when illuminated.
He had this bouquet prepared especially for Tatiana, and he chose lavender roses to match her purple eyes. Aside from that, the meaning behind the flowers explains what he truly feels for her—adoration.
Noah was the one who designed the bouquet, purchased the diamonds, and even looked for an exceptional florist to arrange it. He planned a lot for their date that this bouquet alone took him two days to prepare. Also, he had a difficult time acquiring the lavender roses since they are extremely rare in the empire.
That said, Noah felt nervous while offering the flowers to Tatiana.
On the other hand, Tatiana accepted the flowers reluctantly. She was perplexed as to why His Highness had given her such lovely flowers, but more significantly, the bouquet appeared to be so exquisite that she didn't feel she deserved to even touch it.
I’ve never seen lavender roses before… It’s lovely. Tatiana thought to herself.
“Thank you…” She said quietly.
It was the first time she ever received flowers from someone. In her previous life, Jane used to think Joanne, her step-sister, was overreacting whenever someone gave her flowers. However, she now understands how receiving flowers can make one feel happy and can simply warm the heart.
And to think my first flowers would be this beautiful…. Tatiana smiled to herself.
