17 Andrea Mossara’s Mordanian face, rounded and missing the angles of her adult counterparts, filled my screen, her whiskers twitching with excitement. “A Timewalker came to me,” she said, hissing in her effort to be quiet while containing her emotions. “I can’t believe it still.” I couldn’t believe it either. I was probably less shocked than a Daqtarian would be, but still. I supposed it made sense, considering her parents had been visited, but the fact that one had spoken to her now meant that her timeline had reached a point where she truly had a role to play. A tiny bit of guilt flickered in me as I wondered whether or not I’d steered her in that direction.
