"You should do it."
Damien's eyes almost pop out of his sockets. I stretch my hand across the table and squeeze it.
"You should do it." I repeat softly.
"Are you crazy?" He scoffs. "My ex is literally asking me to walk her down the aisle and watch another man take her. I'm still not over her. She knows that I'm still not over her. And she's just trying to play games with me."
"Then play it." I say to his surprise. "Show her that you don't care. That you have moved on. That you have a wife now and you're happily married. That will kill her."
"I'm trying to move on."
"Maybe the first step of moving on is showing her that you don't care." I say. "She told me that you are her best friend. She obviously wants you there on her special day. Maybe this is not her being the ex with mind games
