Chapter 8: The Wedding Planning Sofia and Jack were ecstatic about their engagement and immediately began planning their wedding. They wanted it to be a perfect blend of their two cultures, Italian and Canadian. "I want to have a traditional Italian pasta course at the reception," said Sofia. "And I want to have a maple syrup flavored cake," replied Jack. They both laughed, excited about the prospect of blending their cultures in their special day. "We should also include a Canadian tradition in our wedding ceremony," suggested Jack. "Like what?" asked Sofia. "How about a unity candle ceremony? It's a beautiful tradition where the bride and groom light a single candle together to symbolize their union," explained Jack. "That sounds perfect, I love it!" exclaimed Sofia. As they continued to plan their wedding, they realized that it was not just about choosing between their two cultures, but about finding a way to combine them and make something new and unique. "I can't wait to see our guests' reactions when they taste the maple syrup flavored gelato at the reception," said Sofia, smiling. "I can't wait for them to see our wedding favors, traditional Italian cookies with a maple leaf on top," replied Jack. They both laughed, feeling happy and excited about their upcoming nuptials. They knew that their wedding would not only be a celebration of their love, but also a celebration of the beautiful blend of their two cultures. They knew that their union would be a reminder that love knows no bounds and can come in any shape, form, and cultures.
