Chapter 12: The Challenges of Long-Distance
As their life in Italy settled into a comfortable routine, Jack and Sofia started to realize the challenges of living in two different countries. They both had family and friends that they missed back in Canada and Italy respectively.
Jack's parents and siblings were still in Canada, and he felt guilty for not being able to visit them as often as he would have liked. Sofia's family and friends were in Italy, and she missed the closeness and connection she had with them.
They also started to feel the strain of being away from each other. Jack's work as a freelancer often required him to travel to different countries, and Sofia's job as a tour guide meant that she was away from home for extended periods.
They would often find themselves struggling to find time to talk on the phone or video call, and the distance between them started to take its toll. They missed each other terribly and longed to be together.
Despite these challenges, they both knew that their love for each other was strong enough to overcome any obstacle. They made an effort to keep in touch as much as possible and to plan visits whenever they could.
They knew that their long-distance relationship was not going to be easy, but they were determined to make it work. They were committed to building a future together, no matter the distance between them.
