Chapter 1 Colton’s pov Man, today was such a long day. There was three fires back to back that we had to take care of along with several other calls. It was by far one of the longest days it seemed. Some days I loved being a firefighter but other days like today it was really hard. I walked into my empty apartment, and just wanted to crash unfortunately I couldn’t do that. Today I turned twenty-one, so my buddies made me promise to go and have a couple of beers with them tonight once I was done with work. I didn’t mind going out with my buddies so much it’s just the clubs they always go to. It’s always the same old boring music and people. Women that are barely dressed that look like skeleton’s trying to grind on me. I’m done with all that mess. I used to go for gorgeous modelesque women until I got my heart ripped to shreds. No, I was done with women like that. I wanted more then just a beautiful face and a banging body. Still I had to admit I was lonely. So, I joined a single’s group for first responders in my area around the same age as me. I was just to busy to go out and meet women, so this was the easiest way for me. Plus, I wanted someone to like me for me and not how I looked. I had a lot of women only approach me because of the way I looked and because I was a firefighter. I just wasn’t in the mood to go out I much rather stay home and talk to Joslyn. She was a lady I met on the site and soon started to text and talk on the phone with. We have been talking foe a while now but didn’t know what each other looked like because we still haven’t traded pics. I wanted to meet but she still isn’t comfortable enough to yet. I found it odd that I don’t even know what she looks like since we have been talking for a while, but I am going at her pace. I just hoped something happened with her soon. I was getting tired of being alone. I hurried to get dressed so I could leave and meet up with my buddies. I sent Joslyn a text telling her that my buddies were dragging me out tonight. I even let he know where I would be at. I thought maybe she would surprise me and show up for my birthday wishful thinking on my part I’m sure. I hurried out the door since I was already running late. Once I got there, I could tell all my buddies had clearly started to drink already. I ordered me a beer then sat down. I wasn’t planning on drinking to much tonight. I wanted to be home early. I looked around and saw the same kind of people at this club that I was sick of seeing. My phone went off, so I looked and saw I got a text from Joslyn saying; “Happy birthday Colton. I hope your having a good time. XOXO.” Getting her text made my night. She was unlike and other woman I have ever talked to. She was so sweet and caring plus down to earth. I decided to be brave and send her a pic of me in hopes she would send one back of herself. I mean what was she waiting for? Was she sacred that I wouldn’t like her? Hell, I already had feelings for her. I sent the pic eagerly awaiting her reply. I waited and waited but got nothing. Did I scare her off? I ordered a shot feeling upset that she hasn’t responded to my pic at all. Maybe she wasn’t into me now that she knows what I look like. My buddies were all on the dance floor dancing with some random girl, but I just wasn’t feeling it. I looked over at the table next to ours and saw the most beautiful woman I have ever seen sitting there by herself. She smiled at me, so I smiled back, and she blushed. She was just gorgeous with curves galore. I decided to just go over and say hi since we both kept looking at each other. “Hi, I’m Colton sorry to bother you just saw you sitting here looking as bored as I am, so I thought I would come over and say hello.” Her beauty had me all tongue tied. Her eyes were hypnotizing. She had lips that begged to be kissed. Her body was banging. I was so intrigued. She was just gorgeous. She kept smiling up at me and making my heart skip a beat. “Um hi Colton I think your friends are trying to get your attention.” I looked over at my buddies and sure enough she was right they were trying to get my attention for some reason. I looked back at this beautiful stranger and told her I would be right back before walking over to see what my buddies could possibly want. Once I was seated at the table I looked back over and noticed the beautiful woman I was just talking to was gone. Did I just imagine that whole thing? I wondered why she took off so fast. I felt my phone go off, so I took it out to see what it ways and saw that I had a pictured message from Joslyn. I opened it up to look at it and was shocked by what I seen. The beautiful stranger I was talking to was my Joslyn. Why didn’t she just tell me who she was? Why did she leave so suddenly? All I knew was that I wanted her. I only hoped she wanted me as well.
