Derek's pov
I was so happy with how much Layla was helping with this charity. She even found the construction company for me. Skylar had some great ideas for our vision. He was even doing this for free.
I told him what was going on with Layla's ex well because I needed someone to talk too. He told me he would keep an eye on Layla for me. I felt better having people I trust helping me out.
Skylar felt it would be better to tear everything down and start new. He said the old building weren't safe. I trusted his judgment. Once I showed him what I wanted I gave him free reign.
The one thing I was worried about was how Layla would like the boutique I was surprising her with. I didn't want to overstep any boundaries. I just wanted to do something for her as a thank you for helpi
