Dane stood in front of me, the moon casting his shadow over my trembling form. I lowered my gaze to his outstretched arm—the bag. Once white, now stained with thick splatters of red blood. "How?..." Words failed me, caught somewhere between my brain and my tongue. The tears that streamed uncontrollably were now dry. How was he even here? How did he appear out of nowhere? "Are you okay?"
