Aurelia'S POV
My heart thudded heavily as I walked into Dominic's office. The heavy expression on his face worried me deeply.
Did the deal fail? But it was too soon to get feedback.
Did I do something wrong last night?
My brain scrambled around with possibilities of what I must've done wrong at the dinner, but Dominic's voice brought me out of my thoughts.
"Sit." He ordered. I obeyed.
"Did something happen last night?" I asked.
Dominic shook his head slowly. "No, but this deal might not go through."
"What? Why?" My eyes widened as I watched him, desperately praying to the goddess within my heart.
I had put all hopes into this project right from the moment he made mention of it. I need it to work.
"Apparently, Sloan from Glacier Law Firm also applied for the position." He answered
