After work, I drove to the Davenport estate. Immediately welcomed in by a maid who guided me into the living room.
"Aurelia!" Flora screamed in excitement on seeing me, immediately wrapping me in her embrace as she delicately kissed my cheeks.
"Nice to see you again." I replied, feeling awkward.
Flora has always been a nice woman without doubt, but her embrace felt a bit too…performative.
She led me towards the dining room. "I made a lot of your favourites." She spoke.
I entered the room to see the entire family seated, including Dane who smiled briefly at me before channelling his attention towards his phone.
