How Philip Acquired his wealth

Philip Maduka, the 30yr old CEO of the multi billion Jewelry Company. He had inherited the company from his late father four years ago and within these four years as CEO, he has grown the company into a prestigious one.

He had been in the UK when he was told his father had died, actually since he was Ten, he, his older sister and Mum had been in the UK where his Dad wanted them to be and so when his Dad died, he came back home to keep his Father's legacy going. In his second year in the country, he met his pretty wife at a social function and after courting for a year, he proposed and Marriage.

Just as he had thought, the next day which was friday he got to work quite late. Meanwhile the weekend was an interesting one with his woman beside him. They had good times together, to the park, bar, beach, Church....

Trim.. Trim, his cell phone woke him up. He sleepily picked up the phone from the nightstand and connected. "Hello"

"Goodmorning sir" the other voice across the line said

He quickly checked the caller ID, "Morning. What is it?" He said to his secretary

"Sir, you're needed at the office now. The Board of Directors have asked for an urgent meeting" she sounded tensed

"Fine" he disconnected.

What urgent BOD meeting is this? He looked beside him for his wife and she wasn't there. 'She could be downstairs'. Just when he was about to stand up, he noticed a note under the pillow, 'Babe, I had to leave for an early appointment' that was the content of the note left by his wife. He quickly left to freshen up.

There was this bad vibes he got immediately he entered into his company. 'Something is definitely wrong' He got into the elevator and headed for his office floor. His secretary met him on his way, looking all worried.

"Sir, they've been waiting" Lola said

"Whats this urgent meeting all about?" He asked

"I think you should find out yourself" Lola said and took hold of her boss's briefcase.

Phil left for the conference room immediately. He opened the conference room's door to meet his complete eight BOD members with angry faces. Then he looked up to the chair he sat on as chairman, only to see his beloved wife sitted on it and her noisy PA Amara standing behind her.

"Laura, what are you doing here? I thought you said you had an appointment"he asked his wife. She never meddled with his work, so whats she doing here? On his chair?

"Yes Dear, this is the appointment" she smirked at him.

He was a bit confused, he didn't remember making his wife part of the BOD.

"Mr Madu, why didn't you tell us before taking such a decision?" Engr Thomas, one of the BOD asked.

"What decision?" Phil asked confusedly

"Don't act all ignorant" Sam the youngest amongst them said.

"Sorry?" Phil didn't get the whole thing. He looked over to his wife who was obviously enjoying the comfort of the chair smiling.

"You have handed this company over to your wife without even asking our consent" Mr Ajayi said.

"Who even knew he was married!" Sam said and everyone gave him this 'shut up' look.

Phil was like What? "What! I didn't do that. I think there is a misunderstanding here"

"So, can you explain this!" Mr Ovunda handed him some documents angrily. He quickly went through the papers and what he saw, shocked the hell out of him.

"This is crazy! I did no such thing!" He said

"Really? But you have your signature on it" the annoying Sam said.

Phil went through it again and its true. His signature was there. "I don't remember_"

"Ladies and Gentlemen, you have all the proofs that I now own this company. My Dear husband has handed it over to me" Laura said swinging the swivel chair.

"Whats the meaning of all these Laura?" Phil asked. He was begining to get very irritated by these rubbish.

"And as the new owner of this Prestigious company, there would be some changes" she said ignoring her husband's question. "One of these changes is that Mr Philip here is no longer the CEO as we already knew. Don't worry Philip I won't kick you out" she said to her husband "And since I can't waste my beloved time sitting inside one very boring office, going through some boring documents, I have decided that Mr Philip would be handling what he's been doing for the past four years, he would be doing this till I find a suitable replacement. He would be on a twenty thousand Naira salary every month." She said and the whole room was like bla bla bla. All noisy.

"Actually, its an offer not an order. So you're free to think about it, Philip" she concluded.

Phil was super disappointed. He could hear Sam whisper to Mr Ovunda "is she really his wife?"

What sort of betrayal is this? Abi was she on something high?

"Anyways that's all for today. Have a good day everyone" she smiled at them, stood up and walked out with her PA behind her not forgeting to quack Phil who was still standing close to the door.

At first Phil was like, 'What just happened here'. The Dude became so confused, humilated....and above all in Shock!

He needs to sort this out. He stormed out of the conference room and went after her immediately. "Laura!"

Laura stopped and then told her PA to go ahead and she turned over to her husband. "Yes?"

"What was that all about! What the hell is the meaning of that?" Phil yelled angrily.

"Meaning of what? Oh that? I just claimed my place in my company"

"Your company? Are you on Drugs or what?"

"Philip, you sure don't want to create a scence here. Lets talk at home. I have more news for you" she smiled at him devilishly and left.

She's turned a witch over night. This was the same woman he slept on the same bed with just yesterday night. She was all sweet and caring last night. What on earth got into her! An evil spirit?

This whole thing is insane. He needs to know what all these was about. He left for his house immediately.
