Tracie's POV I looked around and noticed that the look on my mom was funny despite the tears. While She sniffed hard, my brothers hissed and punched the walls saying different ugly things against our uncle. “ Mom, how do we get the men to leave?" I interrupted, reminding them of what Uncle John said before he left. “Let's stay put here. The money from INDIGO’S COMPANY is being processed, and we will be able to pay them off.” Just as she finished talking we heard some noise in the hallway. I predicted that the men had already made their way in. I was right, and in a jiffy, they were in our room. TRACY'S MOM POV My heart trembled the moment I saw the men John talked about. I think it would have been better if they were debtors but they were escorts from INDIGO’S COMPANY as some of their faces looked familiar. I feared that they were going to take away my daughter, and so I went close to her, holding her tight. “ Mrs Breda Smith, our Boss, demands the presence of Miss Tracia at the registry,” they all said in unison. It sounded so creepy, making goosebumps come on my hand. TRACIE'S POV “What the hell??” I screamed. Mom, don't tell me you know these people. I let out sadly and in pain. My heart aches so bad that I held on to me while one of the men dropped a package of clothes. My brothers wanted to push them away ,but they informed me that they were armed as they only got their Boss's oorder done without any interference. Slowly, I stood up and went into the bathroom taking the dress along. It was black and long. Never have I thought I would be putting on a black dress at my wedding. Behind the door I can hear my brother's murmur and my mom's wailing. I stared at myself at the mirror and I mouthed so many encouraging words but they were not helping. I came out and they handed over the heels. It occurred to me that all they brought fits me perfectly and it made me wonder if my mom had included my clothes and shoe size in the contract. It was a long drive to the registry and the silence in the car made my heart ache more. My mom was not allowed to come as some of the men drove her and my brothers. to our new home we get from signing the contract I stared at the medication in a bag given to me by the nurses and tears came out of my eyes without control. “ How am I supposed to manage this ailment as a wife to a ruthless person?” I asked within myself. We got to the registry and I looked around to make sure I knew where I was should in case I wanted to run away. I was ushered in and then I saw the frame of the man I was to marry. He will be around 6’3 feet tall and his suit clinged to his well built body. I don't know if he was angry because he had one hand in his pocket and was sleeping down his beautiful hair. “You can drool later, just move her and sign this s**t” his deep and hoarse voice said. I moved forward quickly and took the pen on the table and proceeded to sign without looking at him. Before I did, I felt the nudge to read the content of the paper. All this while I had my back was arched forward as my hands rested on the table. Suddenly, I felt a graze from behind. "I think you’ve got the wrong idea,I'm not taking you here" he said softly, his voice dripping with playful confidence. I stood up straight quickly and signed the paper, moving over to the other end. The man at the desk seemed to be familiar with him as he didn't say anything while all this transpired. “p*****t” I muttered as I moved. He moved with an elegance and precision that hinted at his ruthlessness, his every step measured, as he signed the paper. “You will be taken to our house” he said and just immediately flash lights from the camera came from nowhere flashing at us. The reporters had come to the registry to see what transpired. He dragged me to himself and held my hand as we walked out. “Smile!” he ordered. His voice was sharp and scary. I flinched but I could feel he stared at me dotingly as the camera men and women continued their thing. I couldn't bring myself to stare at him but his cologne walked right into my nose making me melt into his embrace unknowingly. "The cologne’s just the start, sweetheart ,wait till you see what really makes you weak in the knees, " he whispered to my ears and I instantly gave him a space. My heartbeat raced so fast and with just two times he spoke to me, I confirmed why he had all ladies at his beck and call. After the whole facade for the press, he almost forgot I existed except when he wanted me in his car. While in the Car, he dropped a box on my lap and asked me to put it on. It was a ring, he didn't give me time to ask why when he ordered the car to stop and I should get out. Signifying that I should get in the car behind him. It took me a while before I could wrap my head around what just happened. I walked to the other car silently, it was then I noticed that he had left me to go somewhere. Not that I wanted him near but I wished he had respected our first meeting and explained things to me. While tears rolled down my face, I noticed that the driver looked at me through the mirror. “ Hey, hey, take it easy….” the man said sweetly. “He will come around” he informed me and I nodded. When we got to the mansion, the driver seemed to be Edward's secretary as everyone in the house respected him. After he talked to the maids, he walked to me and said " I know you deserve so much better than how he treats you, you can call me if you feel lonely” I don't know what was more surprising ,the fact that he kissed me on my forehead right in front of the maid or what he had said. Though it left me speechless, I felt somehow safe with him. It was after two hours that my phone finally beeped. I picked it up to see who sent a message hoping it would be Edward's secretary. However what I saw made me realize that I will always be nothing to Edward. “ You may be on the News with him but I own his heart” I read the message in dismay.
