S.A. Laughlin was born in Ohio, raised a family, and went on to graduate from Capital University with a Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in History and Criminal Justice.
After a year on regular patrol as a police officer, S. A. Laughlin was assigned as an investigator/detective. It was by a fluke, she was introduced to the genre of Science Fantasy, and has been an ardent fan ever since. Now retired, she lives in Northern Ohio with her sister, crazy dog and brat cat.
