"Starting today, I declare that Alpha Caesar and I are Harper's godparents. I hope you will treat her as you would Nyra." Luna Daisy stood on the Knight Pack stage, grinning from ear to ear.
After the announcement, Harper hugged Luna Daisy. "Godmother," Harper whispered, sighing in her arms.
All of the Knight Pack watched as they embraced, and suddenly the entire hall echoed with thunderous applause.
They understood how devastating Nyra's departure was for Alpha Caesar and Luna Daisy, and knew that Harper would be their source of joy.
But the joyful mood ended abruptly when the double doors opened, and Wyatt walked down the rows of chairs. The whole hall fell silent as Wyatt stopped in front of the stage with a gift in his hand.
