Chapter Five

499 Words
My day has been nothing but exciting and interesting. Alex has been so carefree. He would've been a fine lover. If not for my fiancé and our little fling, I would've forced myself to stay in his life. He's been caring all day. The tour has been great. I still don't know the work he does and I seem not to care. As long as it doesn't threaten our departure. He has made it clear to me he's not looking for a partner. Just someone for the weekend and I know I don't need any other man aside the one I'm going to get married to. It sounds silly but I am not going to change my mind about it. Basically, I don't want my mum feeling bad and questioning me about why i broke my promise. I excuse myself to go to the washroom. Just then, my phone starts belling. "Hey, Acel," I answered. "Hi. Hope you are good," he sounded relaxed. "Yes, I'm more than good. You? I'm having so much fun here. Hope you are too," I asked with so much excitement. I know I'm acting weird but I'm doing so to cover my guilt. "I'm also just ...around. I called to check up on you. I know we talked yesterday but I felt like calling you today too," he explained. "That is nice of you," I admitted. I feel guilty for no reason. Maybe for the fact that I was engaged to him but here I am, having fun with someone else. After a long pause, we cut the call and I walk out to meet Alex grinning at me. "Sorry I kept long. Someone called me," I told him. "Who did?" "ERM,that's personal. Where do we go from here?" "The bedroom. Honestly, it is almost nine pm," he said while looking at me with a boyish smile. "Sure." We leave the place as quickly as our breath can take us. **** I wake up to meet Alex holding my phone in his hand. He gives me the phone and I see my mother's message,. Baby, the in-laws called yesterday. The designer sent pictures of the wedding gowns. I have been waiting for your call to tell you. Hope both Paige and you are eating well. Thank God she didn't write your or our in-laws. I sigh and look at him. "You are getting married!!!" He accused. I can bet I saw his angry eyes warning me not to even think about telling lies to him. "No, I'm a wedding planner," I lied. I didn't want us to end so soon. I have two more days. "I am currently planning a friend's wedding. I just wanted this break. Paige and I needed it," I hope he believes me. "I see. I almost thought you were getting married," he sounded relaxed and OK. I shake my head violently. I was so scared he'll find out. "Eunice, we need to talk," with a serious tone, he announced.
