CHAPTER FIVEHalfway down the stairs that lead from the upper floors of The Palace down to the Great Hall, a small arched window had been cut into the stone wall. Rosilda paused for a moment as she made her way down to dinner and stared out in wonder at the incredible view. The Palace of Montdeaves lay between two great mountain ranges in a beautiful emerald green valley that stretched just as far as the eye could see towards the rocky snow-covered slopes that surrounded it. The tiny town of Montdeaves itself lay in a jumble of houses, Churches, roads and squares at the bottom of the steep slope where The Palace was built. Rosilda caught her breath as the sun finally sank behind a mountain peak and the air immediately became much colder. She shivered and regretfully pulled herself away
