THE ORPHAN

CHAPTER TWO

It's early morning, the chirping birds sang to the tune of the wind. Just then a van drove in and stopped by the orphanage home. It's the waste management. One of the worker dropped off the van to pick up the garbage. After dumping the waste, they left.

Just then,an elderly woman, probably in her late 40's came outside the gate. "oh thank you Lord",she said."we thank you for waking us up healthy and alive",she prayed. As she was about to go inside,she spotted a colorful blanket that caught her attention. "wait, what's this? A cradle!?", She asked rhetorically. She went directly to the blanket side and saw a dark skinned baby. "oh my God!",she exclaimed. "who kept you here!?" She asked.

"Wow,I don't think you're from here",she said. "Well,call me Nana",she said to him as if he was understanding her. "let's go inside",she said to him. "Mrs Katherine! Mrs Katherine!,Nana shouted out. "come and see what we've here",Nana said excitedly. "God has brought us a lovely gift this early morning",Nana said. (Mrs Katherine,a woman who's in her early 60's, who owns and runs the orphanage was literally speechless. Her jaw dropped on the floor). "Nana,where did you see this prince charming"?, Mrs Katherine asked. "I just saw him outside the orphanage home. He was hidden beside the wall where he won't be spotted so easily" Nana said. "But,I don't understand something, why's his skin different from ours!?" Mrs Katherine asked. "I too don't understand." Nana replied.

"I've seen alot of cases whereby we'll just receive a call from the police or a case whereby a kid lost his or her parent and then will be brought to this orphanage. But,this is the first time seeing a different race brought inside this orphanage who was left outside all alone in the night. " Mrs Katherine said. "oh Lord,this is great." Mrs Katherine said in a joyful tone. "well, let's take him inside so that he'll meet his new family" Nana said. (Mrs Katherine and Nana went inside with me to meet my new family). "children! Children! Where are you! ". Mrs Katherine voiced out loudly. "come out and meet your new brother",Mrs Katherine said excitedly.

"But,what are we going to call him!?" ,Nana asked. "Uhm... let's call him ELVIS", Mrs Katherine answered happily.
