Chapter 4

645 Words
~ Cal ~ Upon entering my home the previous evening I had learnt about the full agreement of this merger, at least I had time to process it.  The look on Sadie's face clearly indicated that she did not have any prior warning. 'poor girl' What was I thinking, 'poor girl' she deserves every second of it. 'She has been nothing but a complete b**ch to you since you first met her!' Normally you had a girl for each arm, and two different ones for each day of the week, girls couldn't resist their deepest desires when they were around you. 'Maybe Sadie is defective, or maybe she likes chicks... that would be so sweet!' You looked up at Sadie and realized that you had a dumb grin on your face and that you had just chuckled out loud at the thought of some of Sadie's girl on girl action that you had just pictured. "oh, you find this funny do you?" asked Sadie "Ah.. Uhh.." 'words i***t, use words. She's looking at you, come up with something, anything' "Uhh, no... I just... uhh... had more time to process I guess. My grandpa told me last night" This clearly did not make Sadie feel better, she let out a sigh, turned around and hopped into the truck without saying another word. 'i***t' 'why did I care so much about what this girl thought of me?' it was frustrating. ~ Cindy ~ I never wanted this to happen, Sadie was going to end up in the same position as I was in. It was a life of regret, social status, power and money had come between true love. Of course it was never the same type of love as a true 'mate' could have given.  But those were nothing but old wives tales anyways, bedtime stories, just like the princess being rescued by prince charming. Fairy tales didn't actually exist in real life. But I always wanted better for Sadie, her to find 'love', her to not be stuck in this no where town. Sadie had the soul of a gypsy. She deserved great things, and even bigger opportunities, she always gave 110% and wore her heart on her sleeve. Sadie was always my 'favorite child', but I was unable to ever show it, as it would upset Josh. The males in the family were to inherit everything, Jaxson would be our future alpha after all. I just couldn't help but feel like Sadie was the one who was more motivated and was actually going places in life. Sadie was going to move mountains one day... ~ Sadie ~ The morning dragged on, she couldn't believe what was happening. She drove from place to place, introducing Cal to all the business owners and other elite people in the city. Other than that, they didn't say one word to each other. Heck, she couldn't even look at him, 'my own personal hell'. At 11:43am Sadie had made up her mind, she was not going down without a fight. She would stand her ground and make it known how unhappy she was with this 'arrangement'. She wasn't going to allow her dad, or step-dad, or mom, anyone. Decide her future for her. 'I am better and worth more than this' She started heading back to the office. ~ Josh ~ Back at the office I had everything lined up, the venue was booked, the cake and flowers were ordered, bartender, DJ were all in order. Now just to find the dress, Cindy and Sadie were scheduled to go into the local bridal shop the next day. "hopefully the little brat shows up tomorrow" Josh said to Cindy "well, it is a lot to take in all at once, Could you not have pushed the wedding back another month?" "no, in two weeks time Cal and Sadie will be married, and I will finally have a son" "Josh... Jaxson is your son" Cindy was almost trembling with anger at Josh's words. "Jaxson is not ready, and we could be fighting a war any day now!" Josh looked at the time, they would be here any moment.
