CHAPTER SIX Sadie wrinkled her nose against the pungent smell of the Bait Shack as they stepped inside. The man had turned on a dim lamp, which gave off a dirty yellow light that pervaded the gloom with the color of stale urine. “Who are you?” The guy in the rain gear jumped near enough out of his skin as Sadie and Sheriff Cooper entered. He was coming towards them through an interior door that led to another, smaller room, and he had a look on his face that Sadie recognized as guilt. When the Sheriff and Sadie flashed their badges, his right eye twitched alarmingly. Still, he seemed to be no immediate threat, and Sadie slid her g*n back into her holster.
