“Nothing,” Sadie said to herself in frustration as she finished going through the forensics from the shack. No fingerprints had been found that didn’t belong to Mike DaCosta – or whatever his name was – and no trace of anything that could have belonged to either of the victims or that would even indicate their presence there.
There was zero evidence, just as Sadie had suspected, that DaCosta was their killer. As for Johnny’s statement that he had been purchasing child p*********y from Higgins, that statement was currently all that they had. DaCosta was no longer around for them to question.
