The next morning, I stood with Darius, Kaden, and a group of warriors at the pack gates. I was getting anxious by the minute as we prepared to leave for the Elder Council. Honestly, I was surprised to see so many pack members join us. But they looked at me, exchanged glances and then bowed to me.
In a low voice, I said to Kaden, “Why are so many people joining us to the council?” I had a doubt that they wanted to see my downfall.
Kaden’s lips curled up in a small smile. “Because they are indebted to you for fighting next to their Alpha as his equal and then helping everyone after the explosion. This is their way of showing their solidarity to you.”
