Chapter Five

1828 Words
Hudson pulled the truck up outside of the party that was in full swing at the club in the Clover Pack territory. Beside him, Penelope squealed loudly, making him flinch, ‘this is going to be such an amazing party’ she gushed, grabbing his arm tightly, her red painted nails digging into his skin. ‘Sure is’ Garrett said from behind him, as the brunette beside him giggled, her hand brushing his shirt flirtily as he winked at her. Scowling, the Alpha pulled his arm from the she wolf’s grip, climbed out of the truck, slamming the door angrily. He didn’t want to be here, he had better things to do than babysit the Gamma’s little princess. Doors shut behind him before a hand wrapped around his arm again, ‘you didn’t open the door for me’ Penelope hissed in annoyance. Hudson turned to her frowning, ‘why would I?’ he asked, ‘did you lose the ability to do it yourself?’ Penelope huffed, ‘as your date . . ‘ she started. ‘You are not my date’ the Alpha snapped, cutting her off, ‘I am merely the poor shmuck who you tricked into giving you and your tarty friend a free ride. Well now you are here so go away.’ The she wolf’s mouth dropped open before snapping shut as she turned on her heel and stomped off, her brunette friend releasing Garrett and sloping off behind her. ‘Thanks dude’ his Beta grumbled as they walked up the steps of the packhouse and entered, ‘she was getting handsy in the back, I was looking at a damn good time just then.’ ‘You can do better than that Gar’ the Alpha muttered, ‘you should be thanking me for saving you from a huge mistake.’ Weaving through the sea of bodies, they pushed through to the kitchen, grabbing two beers and cracking them open. ‘How long do I have to stay?’ Hudson asked as he leaned against a wall watching members of his and Clover pack grinding against each other to the music. ‘Dude, we just got here, at least try to enjoy yourself for an hour before you rush off’ his Beta sighed as he winked at a passing blonde who eyed him curiously before disappearing into the kitchen that they had just exited. Taking a swig of his beer, Hudson nodded reluctantly, forcing a smile onto his face when the blonde reappeared, a fruity drink in her hand and made a bee line for them. ‘Hey’ she said breathlessly, getting into the Beta’s personal space. ‘Hey yourself’ Garrett replied, a grin crawling across his face as he leaned closer to the girl, giving her his full attention. ‘I’m Bianca’ the she wolf introduced herself. ‘I’m yours for the night if you want me’ Garrett returned making her laugh. ‘Very smooth Beta’ she said, tracing a finger down his shirt as she licked her lips, ‘want to tell me your name?’ Garrett reached out and tucked a strand of hair behind her ear, ‘how about you show me your moves instead’ he asked cockily. ‘You seem like a girl who would enjoy a bit of mystery.’ Bianca fisted his shirt, pulling him away from the future Alpha toward the dance floor, Garrett following willingly without a backwards glance. Rolling his eyes, Hudson dropped his head back against the wall, draining his beer to try and numb the boredom. Crushing the can, he headed back into the kitchen, grabbing a second beer, downing that and moving to a third. As a werewolf, alcohol didn’t really affect them, it took a lot to get drunk which was both a blessing and a curse. ‘Here Alpha, try this, it’s the hosts special mix’ one of the Clover pack members called out to him just as a cup of some sort of spirit was thrust at him. Sniffing it curiously, he could definitely make out some sort of rum, taking a small sip, he ran it around his mouth before deciding he liked it and took a deep gulp. Yep, this drink was really good, he drained the cup and held it out to the guy by the bowl who filled it again for him with a grin. ‘Enjoy your night Alpha’ he called out as Hudson made his way back into the main room, waving two fingers above his head in acknowledgement. Taking a seat on one of the few empty sofas, Hudson loosened up slightly as the alcohol his his system. ‘Hey Alpha’ a soft voice purred from beside him as the chair dipped and a set of highly polished fingernails skated over his chest. Glancing over, he raised an eyebrow at the girl sitting next to him, her ash blonde hair falling in a plait over her left shoulder, two deep grey eyes studying him hungrily. ‘What do you want?’ he asked bluntly, frowning at her. Undeterred by his frosty reception, the female curled her legs underneath her and leaned into him. ‘I just saw you were all alone and thought you might like some company’ she replied smoothly, ‘it’s a party, no-one should be drinking alone.’ Hudson scowled, ‘I prefer to drink alone’ he growled, making her flinch before her face smoothed into what she thought was a seductive grin. ‘Then let me be your errand girl’ she said soothingly, ‘you are nearly out, I can go and get you a refill.’ Glancing at his almost empty cup, he considered her words before nodding curtly. Jumping up, the she wolf ran toward the kitchen, returning moments later with two cups that were brimming with the drink he’d been given. Taking his from her hand, he took a deep pull, enjoying the buzz that had started to build in his mind blocking out his annoyance at being there. Drink after drink, the future Alpha found himself relaxing, a smile tilting up the corners of his mouth as he watched everyone around him dancing, laughing and in a few cases dry humping against the walls. Beside him, the she wolf was giggling, her attention having been caught by a warrior from the Clover pack. Straddling his lap, she was grinding against him as his hands ran all over her backside. Tipping his cup to his lips, Hudson pouted when he found it yet again empty, glancing at the pair beside him he realised he’d be getting his own drink now as they were suctioned to each others faces. Standing up, he stumbled slightly before righting himself, chuckling as the room swirled lazily in front of him. Wobbling his way to the kitchen, he spotted the guy who had given him his original cup and made his way over. ‘Alpha!’ the boy greeted him, ‘you enjoying the party?’ ‘Best party ever’ Hudson replied, waving his empty cup around, ‘just a shame that my cup is empty.’ The boy laughed, reaching out and taking his cup to refill it, ‘this is your third right?’ he asked, ‘don’t have too many more, I know you’re an Alpha but this stuff is strong.’ Hudson waved his hand dismissively, ‘too right, I’m an Alpha, don’t worry about me, it’s hard to get me drunk.’ Not waiting for a reply, he stumbled out into the back garden, deciding that it would be a good idea to get some fresh air. Stepping out into the darkness, Hudson made his way toward some seats that were positioned around a pool that was lit with fairy lights. People were screaming and splashing in the water, most only dressed in their underwear. Dropping into a lounger, the Alpha took another pull from his cup, smacking his lips together in appreciation, this stuff was good. He tried to focus on the people in the pool, chuckling under his breath as two she wolves climbed up on the shoulders of two werewolves and started to wrestle. Their shrieks filled the air as they tried valiantly to push each other off and into the water whilst the boys held their legs steady. Hudson’s eyes wandered around the area lazily until a flash of red caught his eye. Sitting up quickly, he blinked a few times to try and clear his vision before searching the sea of people for the red head he was sure he had spotted. Turning toward the house, his breath quickened as a wave of long red hair rippled in the breeze before the she wolf disappeared inside. Harvey, his wolf growled in his head, the Alpha throwing up a block to keep him back as he struggled out of the chair and followed the girl. Pushing through the crowd, his eyes swung left to right, searching for the she wolf that he was sure had been Quinn. Disappointment filled him when there was no auburn headed woman in sight, making his way through the living room, he checked the other rooms downstairs before turning to the stairs and heading up to the upper floor. Some of the rooms were occupied, the doors locked as Hudson tried each one, his senses becoming more and more agitated as he imagined Quinn behind one of these doors with another wolf. Reaching the end of the hall, the door opened just as he reached out to grab the handle, knocking him off balance as he stumbled forward, getting a quick glance at the bathroom in front of him before two warm hands grabbed him, steadying him. Blinking through the haze, Hudson tried to focus on the face in front of him but struggled to bring her into focus, the red hair that framed her face registered in his mind though and a huge grin split his face. ‘I’ve been looking for you’ he muttered huskily, his arms wrapping around her waist and pulling her into him. Behind the block, his wolf was going crazy, trying to push through but he pushed him down further, he wasn’t giving up control when he was with their mate, Harvey could wait. ‘You have?’ the girl replied in shock, her fingers tightening slightly on his arms. ‘Of course’ he growled, leaning closer wanting to inhale her scent but was only able to smell the alcohol she’d been drinking. Grabbing her hand, he dragged her out of the bathroom and back down the hall, searching for an unoccupied room, finally finding one with a door ajar. Pulling her inside, he shut the door behind them, spinning her around and crashing her body to the doorframe as his lips found hers. Whimpering, the red head opened her mouth to him, fisting his shirt as his hands roamed all over her body, drinking her in. ‘Mine’ he murmured into her mouth, her lips dampening down the sound as she gave herself over to him.
