CHAPTER THREE: WHERE IT ALL BEGIN'S, PART TWO

That is the beginning of my biggest regrets that time, only if I knew I should have stop them but I am also a greedy one who let it all happen because of my strong desire to meet my dad knowing that he is the man behind that research. I don’t have any difference with them, Doctor Lee a mother who is longing for her daughter and desperately wanted to find cure because she cannot reach acceptance yet.

Nalimpungatan ako sa magkakasunod na katok mula sa labas nang aking silid, kaya dali dali akong bumangon upang tignan kung sino ang naroroon ngunit bago pa man ako maka lapit sa pinto ay kinuha ko ang isang maliit na baril na nasa loob nang box sa tabing lamesa aiming it to the door I slowly open it tumambad naman sakin si Riah na naka taas ang mga kamay “I can’t believe you still see me as a threat” she said rolling her eyes. I chuckled

“Everyone could be a threat, even ourselves” I replied habang inaayos ang aking mga baril at ibat- ibang uri nang patalim, from books and art materials to guns and knife this is my reality now I fight to survive and we kill to live. “Not me Sora!” naiinis nitong sagot “stop calling me that” I replied while aiming my gun the wall “whatever!” she said “what’ brings you here this early?’’ I asked of course there must been something “well just to remind you that we are about to go back in our hunting field” Riah said while putting a cowboy hat in her head,

I look at her from head to toe I just noticed that she is wearing our hunting outfit, napangiwi ako I guess na wiwindang nanaman ako “right you forget, tapatin mo nga ako Dein are you still having the same dream again?’’ nakapamewang itong nakatitig sakin “yeah” tipid kong sagot naupo ito sa gilid nang lamesa at saka kumuha nang green apple sa fruit basket the tabi nito “there’s no point of blaming yourself Dein even if you stop them your dad will always find a way to continue the research because its been decided without our opinion.’’ She said sincerely and tap my shoulder saka naglakad na ito palabas nang room ko.

Well she is right but at some point of my life I still can’t help thinking that I should have done something to stop this stupid research. I gathered my stuffs and went to the parking lot where my team is waiting “over here Cloud!” Sheyie shouted waving her gun haha I guess this is really the new normal us, instead of holding book we gain knowledge by experiencing it , instead of fighting using our academic skills we rely on our physical strength. Pen turns into a gun and from white to black and decent to bad ass.

While in the middle of road we saw some of infected people running around the street but they don’t pay attention on us maybe running vehicle is not there target looks like they are chasing something or should I say someone. It’s been a months since we started this rescue team. The purpose is to find our love once and save them if in case they are still alive hiding somewhere. Some of my team got their family already but me? The one who started all of this, still haven’t find my mom and sister and it pains me every time I realized how stupid I am to let them be parted with me.

Kasalukuyang sinamahan ko si Riah sa C.R. magbibihis kasi ito nang P.E. uniform kaya nagantay nalang ako sa tapat nang sink at pinagmasdan ang aking sarili. I decided not to join the project since I feel like something is wrong about it I mean the whole idea is wrong. However it could be a good way for me to get closer with my dad I could sense na I am a few steps ahead to reach my goals. Kasalukuyan pa akong naka tulala when suddenly my phone rang. I check it it’s momi Corry ang P.I.O nang student council “hello mie” sabi ko “bunso asan ka?” she replied nervously look like something urgent kasi triggered ang lola mo.

“Nasa may cr po why?” I answered she posed a little but still continue to speak ”come here at the ssc office now hanap ka ni pres.“ she finally said press aba miss ako ng loko that is why mami is abit hesitant “okay po I’m on my way” unbothered kong sagot “Riah! Iwan na kita jan pinapatawag ako ni Ram sa office” sigaw ko rito “luh? Bakit daw?’’ sagot naman nito ay aba talagang nagtanong pa “ewan miss yata ako!” sarcastic kong sagot.

Di ko inantay pa si Riah at agad na pumanhik sa hagdan without hesitation pumasok na ako sa office kinakabahan man ay I need to face this makikiusap nalang ako na bigyan pa ako ng time para matapos ang story, I just need subject to finish this “hey press. Hinahanp mo raw ako” I said with a painted smile miss mo ako no? arat comeback us joke simpre di ko sasabhin yun no duhh.

“Ahh oo upo ka Dein“ Turo neto sa upuan aba aba talagang miss ako haha “press I’m sorry I know na matagal mo nang binigay sakin to but I’m working with this sobranng hirap lang talagang humanap ng subject” nahihiya kong paliwanag, secretly praying na sana ay tangapin ni press ang alibi ko paghindi sasayawan ko nalang hahaha.

Ngumite ito ng makahulugan na nagpakunot ng noo ko abat lande neto ano comeback na kasi hahaha “you never change Dein advance ka paring magisip haha hindi kita pinatawag dahil jan sa project mo okay? I told you take your time” he said sincerely sows di na ako madadala jan ulol! kung hindi ko lang ito kilala ay marahil ay naniwala na ako sa sinceridad na pinapakita ng mga mata nito.

Lihim akong napaingos sa aking isipan. Sumandal nalang ako sa upuan scam yan here we go again “so what is it Ram? Don’t tell me na namis mo ako agad?” sarcastic kong sabi, at the back of my mind di ma ako maloloko Ram, he chuckled softly that make him even sexier I roll my eyes ughhh wag ako hangal lande mo

“Okay. Okay fine I quit!” sabay taas ng dalawang kamay tanda nang pagsuko aba dapat lang hahaha “so ano nga?” bumuntong hininga muna ito bago muling nagsalita so ano makikipag balikan ka ulol wag na!

“Aware ka naman sa bagong project ng organization and I’ve been informed that a big Japanese group will fund the research and we can’t lose that chance to work with this kind of big project so I want you to be part of that team na kinanduct ng school as representative of the SC and med department leader.” He said without breaking an eye contact.

Ahh yun naman pala eyy maipapagawa nanaman ang gago I meet his gaze “and why it’s have to be me?” bumuntong hininga itong muli saka sumandal sa swivel chair duh ang panget mo jan ulol! “Because I believe in you Dein, I know you can do it. And beside you are the best journalist in our school and one of the smartest in science, you have to write everything you’ll observe there.” He said trying to trick me at the back of my head I wanted to tell him that it’s no use

Sus! Wag ako Ram lumang istilo na yan kung sana di kita ex maniniwala pa ako haha. I run my finger to my hair “wait lang ah are you not aware na nakapag desisyon na ako I already told Doc lee that I am declining the offer in SV?’' taas kilay kung sagot dito he just shrugged I roll my eyes parang na sesence ko na ito “Sorry Mr. president but the team leader already sign it at pinayagan nya ako so I can’t help you“ muli ay sinabe ko rito at akmang tatayo na ako bitbit ang bag when he suddenly speak.

“But I didn’t sign it yet and I can easily dismiss it in just one snap“ pagkuwan ay sagot nito I look at him may namumuong smirk sa mukha nito napakuyum ako ng kamao I glared at him but he just speak again “you know how powerful my position is Dein and also you know me better I can do whatever I think is necessary“ I just chuckled with all my anger at pagpipigil dam this boy.

“And yes Ram you’re still the person I know, using your power to manipulate others, a big round of applause to you. Keep this inside your mind Ram I’m doing this for our school and definitely not for you!” saka ako lumabas na binalibag ko ang pinto napupuyos ako sa galit he never change.

He always liked to manipulate my life like hell! Yes we know each other at minsang naniwala ako na posibleng maging masaya ako sa feeling nya, but I’m just the stupid one who believe it! Tsk ginagalit talaga ako ng loko bwesit. Yes galit parin ako kay Ram until now hindi naman sa bitter ako ang mas masakit kasi don ey iniwan na nya ako pero ayaw parin niya akong bitiwan he keep me by his side and manipulate me like before he keep on using me para lang sa goals nya ta wala akong magawa.
