"You know, I read this book last year about something like that." Nora said, referring to a decrease in the market a few years back. "I picked it up in an airport by mistake- they gave someone else my book instead. I admit it was a bit hard to follow but quite interesting." She wondered where she had put it.
"What book?" Jake asked. Nora had noticed that Brian had been more quiet since she returned from the ladies room but she made no attempt to engage him. It was a strange evening and now all she wanted was to go upstairs and hide in her room.
"Well, gentleman, it's been a great evening, but we should get going." Stacey said, reaching into her bag for her wallet.
"No, it's been taken care of." Brian said, as was expected. It was typical of men like Brian to pay for women's meals.
