“Norna!”
I turned and looked behind me as Ivar, William, Loch, and Kara came running towards me. The relief that swept through me at seeing my family was too much and my legs buckled. I landed on my knees hard. My breathing was coming out fast. I grabbed the shaft of the arrow and broke it off. William reached me first, throwing his little body into mine and wrapping his arms around my neck. His tears wet my shirt and I patted his back in comfort. Loch and Kara were next as the came to me and sniffed, checking me over to make sure I was still alive. They whined when they caught the smell of my blood and I nuzzled my face with theirs to comfort them.
