4 I was right. It was one of the coldest nights yet. I had fallen asleep at some point last night after securing the shelter a little more for the tenth time. It hadn’t helped much though. The wind had picked up and blew through the branches I had used to shelter us from the snow. We were able to keep the fire going all night but the heat from it wasn’t much to begin with since it was a small fire. When dawn finally came the next morning, I was more than ready for us to get up and get moving. Kara and Loch felt the same way and after I had checked their heads and made sure they walked with no issues, Eivora and I saddled the horses and made our way back towards the road. The bodies of the dead had been buried from the snow drifts last night. They would stay that way until the weather war
