"Sleep in my room tonight." The words hung in the narrow space between us, heavy and cold. I stared at him, my mouth slightly open, my mind completely frozen. My throat felt so dry it ached when I tried to swallow. I wanted to laugh because the idea was completely insane, but the look in his grey eyes was so flat, so unbending, that the sound died before it could even reach my lips. "I am not sleeping in your room," I babbled, my voice shaking as I tried to pull my arm out of his grip. His fingers did not tighten, but they did not move either. They stayed wrapped around my skin like an iron cuff, solid and unyielding. "Are you crazy? I do not even know you. You bought me from my family, you lied to the news, you dragged me into a house where people get shot, and now you want me to sleep
